'Nova wins this on talent but Haas looks like a giant out there and they are using him well.  a) didn't see the first half or how he got 3 fouls so i may be missing something, and b) there's an avocado joke in there somewhere but it escapes me.

Nova wins.  Big East still undefeated

Providence beat Vermont, Xavier beat Buffalo and the Johnnies looked good in their win. Nice to see everyone getting off to a god start.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Tomorrow night two big tests. Can we get thru the first week undefeated?!!

Hey, if people can speculate about a 30-0 MU team, I can muse about a perfect first week for the BE.  ;D

LloydsLegs

That was a big early road win for nova and the conference

Think bigger.  BE undefeated in non-conference.

Come on now, be realistic. DePaul is still in the league.

No way, no way, no way....well maybe...yes!

BE undefeated in non conf...MU undefeated in BET. MU BET champs! 1seed undisputed. Big Dance champs! And MU considered best team since undefeated Indiana.

And to think that I saw it on Mulberry street!

Do we want Creighton to Beat UW tonight?

I am not a fan of UW, but is it better at this point to beat a highly rated undefeated UW team in December?....or a UW team with a loss to Creighton and rated a little less highly?

Of course we can always get Creighton twice later....maybe the math is better if Creighton ranked higher. I know the math differentials are minor here.

Any other team my BE allegiance says Creighton...But I want UW and MU to be undefeated for a showdown. So I'm rooting for UW on that bases.

We absolutely want Creighton to win. Better for the Big East resume. If Big East resume is good, more teams make it to the dance.

There is no situation in which it is better for Marquette for a non-Big East team to beat a Big East team....unless Notre Dame came back. They can always lose.

Better for Creighton to win because we play them twice. In terms of the RPI factor of opponent's record, they count double what UW does. When you get to the next factor, opponent's opponents record, it's even more important because every other Big East team also plays them twice. In that regard, Creighton winning is roughly 18x more important to us.

barfolomew

We don't want them beat.

Out... of commission.

Just when I thought I'd never see a worse choke job than UNI in last year's NCAA tournament it took about 8 basketball game days worth of college basketball for Georgetown to upend them. I think Maryland got 8(?) free throws without even inbounding the basketball in the last 30 seconds of the game, all while trailing the Hoyas by as much as 6 inside 30 seconds. That was absolutely horrendous.

Don't forget Gtown traveled and stepped out of bounds to give the ball back too.

That was the worst thing I've ever seen.

5 point lead with 0:19 to go.  3 fouls and two turnovers (traveling and OB).   Smh, G-Town.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

brewcity77

I didn't see the entire game, but Rodney Pryor was everything I expected him to be. He can hit shots at times, but has bad shot selection and a poor understanding of when to shoot and when to give it up. Kid was trying too much hero ball and not enough team ball. Needs to settle his game down to be a factor against quality teams.

jsglow

Hey hoyasincbirth, your team effing sucks.  JT-III is an absolute moron and the 'lady' Hoyas haven't been relevant since Alonzo.  Never come back here and say how great 'this year' your flop of a team will be.  Brutal.   Substituting in the Marquette women's team would have given you a better chance down the stretch.

Did I say B-R-U-T-A-L?

Yup.  Just horrendous in every way possible.  The one travel where his feet just slipped from under him is somewhat just bad luck, but continually inbounding the ball into the same corner and letting them trap without using a timeout when you have 2 to burn is a joke.

Oh and speaking of timeouts, taking a timeout after your 2nd made free throw puts you up 3 with 14 seconds left while Maryland has none to use is the dumbest timeout I think I've ever seen.  Even worse than the Browns using a timeout before the first offensive play of the game last Thursday.  Just horrible.

Half their points came on free throws. 37 for 42 from line.  Ridiculous.

brewcity77

Missed the end. I'll give them this, they were more fun to watch. I mean, at least until they presumably threw up on their collective shoes.
