On the short end of a 35-5 run in the last 9 minutes of the first half and no timeouts used. I think it's safe to say the Mullin experiment has not worked out for St. John's.

Mullin doesn't coach the team.

I don't think you can say that its failed yet. Rebuilds take time. But I will agree that the signs don't look good.

9 days to Real BE play and two 300+ opponents till then...what do we do with the time?

Why of course we play meaningless mental statistical games...mine is "can the Big East finish with 80%+ NONCONF winning pct."

* Currently  84-25 (qualifying games)
* 13 games left before BE play (as of the beginning of today 12/19)
* 4 games during BE play.

126 total nonconf games. 80% = 100.8 wins => 101 wins.

so we have to win every one left. Can STJ bean Syracuse? All the rest we should be competitive.

We shall see...

Just to note: some nice Non-Conference games during Big East play:

1/14 - Georgetown/UConn
1/26 - Xavier/Cincinnati
1/29 - Villanova/Virginia - Battle for the letter "V"

and of course that classic:
1/14 Creighton/Truman State

Big East had a decent night last night...

Creighton won at Zona State by 11 (given their average defense and great offense,  our games with them could see winner scoring 100+)

Xavier dispatched Eastern Wash by 30
Providence took care of Maine (by 20)

Sagarin has Big East ranked third and RPI has us at first

Still 16 to play, but the Johnnies are up 13 at Syracuse in the second half.

DePaul absolutely sucks. Down 10 to Wyoming with 9 minutes to go.

Are you sure that he will be able to rise to the occasion?

Hearing he is at least 12 clicks above the DePaul high water mark.

To be fair, I believe DePaul opened at +4.5. Spread came down to +2.5, so bettors were on the Big East team, but Wyoming was always the favorite.

EDIT: Eli Cain 2/16 from the field with 4 turnovers. He should fit right in as that next DePaul go-to guy.

Watching SH vs Rutgers, officiating is ridiculous. Lots of flopping by SH players, Rutgers is a good team, led most of game but officiating turned the table. SMH

Bad night for the league, going 1-2 against marginal competition.

I watched a lot of that game and SHU played awful.

Hopefully that's the SHU that shows up vs us
