Curious, how does that work with transfers.  Would it count as MU's first 2000 pt scorer?

Nope, he doesn't get MU credit for what he did at a low major school. He wouldn't have seen the court more that 5 minutes a game as a freshman at MU.

I don't know....the MU backcourt his freshman season was Derrick Wilson and Jake Thomas

Post-Georgetown update. Looks like Markus Howard will close the BC with a likely landmark scoring number, while Andrew Rowsey will need postseason play to get to 1,000 in a Marquette uniform.

  • Markus Howard, 991 points: Howard enters the season finale just 9 points short of the 1,000 point mark. He will likely pass the mark in the final game at the BC, as he's hit double-figures in every game he's played this year except two, and one was the Creighton game where he left with an injury before halftime.
  • Andrew Rowsey, 941 points: Rowsey is averaging 19.4 this year. At that average, he would score 58 in his next three games, meaning it will probably take 3-4 games to crack 1,000 as a Marquette player. That means he will likely need at least one more game than Senior Day and the first BET game. If Marquette wins their first BET game and/or makes it to a postseason tournament, Rowsey should have a decent shot at 1,000. If they go one and done at MSG and get shut out of the postseason, he'll likely come up a little short.
  • Sam Hauser, 715 points: Sam is now 54 points behind Marquette's all-time leading scorer, Jerel McNeal, for points scored as a sophomore. His 14.5 ppg average would have him moving ahead of Jerel after 4 more games, so like Rowsey, he'll need either MSG or postseason success. I didn't expect him to get there this year, so it's impressive that he has a shot at it. Averaging 19.5 ppg the last 4 games has helped move him up the ladder.

Rofl? He would have been the best point guard there by a long shot. His competition would have been Wilson and Thomas.

Regular season finale update. Markus Howard passed 1,000 to close the BC with Rowsey looking likely to pass the mark in the postseason.

  • Markus Howard, 1,016 points: Howard is the first sophomore to reach 1,000 and is 6th in scoring for players in their first two years at Marquette. Next on the list are Dean Meminger (1,021), Darius Johnson-Odom (1,026), and Jae Crowder (1,049).
  • Andrew Rowsey, 967 points: Rowsey is averaging 19.9 which means he would likely pass 1,000 with two more games. After his From The Al performance on Senior Night, it seems like a good chance he will hit 1,000 at Madison Square Garden.
  • Sam Hauser, 733 points: Hauser is 38 points behind Jerel McNeal's sophomore pace and would be expected to pass that mark with three more games. Impressive as that is, it really puts into perspective what a prodigious scorer Howard has been.

It's a long ass process. Because my wife is over 35, the doctor wanted to induce. That means coming in at 7:00 pm for the first medication and staying overnight. We've been here almost 12 hours and haven't even seen the doctor yet. There's a second drug given to start the contractions, but we aren't even there yet. At some point I'll be going dark, but there's only so much "Happiest Baby on the Block" one can read.

Could be worse.  Chick Family babies are known for coming right out once they've decided to come into the world.  My two youngest siblings were almost born in the car on the way to the hospital.  Mine didn't dilly dally much, but glow jr. immediately regretted the decision and cried nonstop for 2 hours.
Have some patience, FFS.

Bump.

Thru DePaul 3/7, Andrew Rowsey has scored 992 points at Marquette, making him 8 points away from joining Marquette's 1000 point club.

In addition, Rowsey would join the even more selective 1000-points-at-two-different-schools club.  The current members are: Jon Manning (Oklahoma City, North Texas, 1974-1979), Kenny Battle (NIU, Illinois, 1984-1989), Gary Neal (LaSalle, Towson, 2002-2007), and Juan'ya Green (Niagara, Hofstra, 2011-2016).  Notice that Rowsey will join Battle as the only players to do it at a high major school.
