The Celtics just sent someone down to Lids to buy more hats.
Have some patience, FFS.

Euros with pro experience have more value than a one and done college guy.
Plus teams can draft and stash them in a top level pro league rather than d-league.

This is big.

Kinda like the old days when you could make a future draft pick. Celtics did it with Bird.

Happy for Henry. Will represent us well.

But given where he was picked, was it worth coming out early? Not sure I buy it. Wished he'd stayed and refined his game, but he'll do well as a Piston.

Knee questions?

If the knee is OK, I think it is a great pick.

Knee, not athletic enough, at 14, just don't see it. Doesn't sit with me that a 4 yr senior, starting PG, watched his team get rolled by a 15 seed in tourney in his last/biggest game.

Wow, there's a lot of negativity on the board here.  I can't believe anyone would call tonight a disappointment or argue that being drafted in the mid-first round means a kid should have stayed in school.

Let's keep some perspective here.  Henry just became a guaranteed millionaire tonight, is going to play for a decent NBA team and a very good coach.  Also I would bet a lot of money that had Henry stayed in school, he wouldn't have been drafted as high next year.

Most of his classmates are working minimum wage jobs this summer.

Somebody gets it.

As long as you get picked by #30, it's a good decision.

Good for him.  I'd be living it up if my brother just became a multimillionaire at 19 years old too.  Or at 40 years old.  Whenever.

Pistons never worked him out because they never dreamed he would fall that far.

This.

What is wrong with some of you people? A 1-and-done chooses MU over Kentucky and Michigan State, plays his ass off for us, helps us improve significantly, represents us well, blocks effen Kris "Greatest PG Ever" Dunn's GW shot attempt, etc, etc, etc.

Now, gets drafted No. 18 -- same as Eric Bledsoe in 2010, J.R. Smith in 2004, David West in 2003, Mark Jackson in 1987 and Joe Dumars in 1985. What a loser.

He's an instant millionaire, he'll get great coaching and will get to break in slowly for a playoff team on the rise.

And people who call themselves MU fans are ripping on him?

I wonder if San Diego State fans ripped on Kawhi Leonard for not being a lottery pick, too.

Jeesh. Get a life, people.

I think that's oversimplifying it a bit.

There's a difference between people ripping on him and legitimate discussion on the topic considering he went 9-10 picks lower than most thought he would.

First contracts are not what you work for in the NBA.

I agree.

And I appreciate the legit discussion a lot more than the rip jobs.

Could have been much worse for Henry.  Stephen Zimmerman from UNLV was a one and done McD's AA and just went #41.

I like it a lot. Gives Davis a pick and role option as well as someone who can play center. Jrue, Hield, Pondexter, Davis and Stone an interesting lineup.
