The first two involve  death, and the cessation of human existence on this mortal coil.
The third is an ex jock losing his job. He is still alive, healthy, and likely able to work for another employer. No longer working for ESPN is barely even a bad thing...much less an equivalency to death, on the scale of bad things.
The actual saying here is "death comes in 3s"...lets wait for the third death to complete our tally, and leave Shilling's job loss off the death list...ok?
In fact why not just add the death of the Pearl; Dwayne Washington of Syracuse? 3 deaths

Bad things do come in 3's.   Can't believe Prince died,  Chyna died,  and Curt Schilling getting fired all happened on the same day.

I had a new grandson born a few weeks ago. His dad is an avid guitarist and they considered baby names like Hendrix, Stevie (Ray Vaughn) and Eric (Clapton).
In the end they opted for Christian as a first name...ie no guitar player reference (to my knowledge)

His middle name, however is Prince...yes ...named for Prince.

How sad that just as our family is enjoying our new "Prince" ... his namesake has died. RIP Prince

BTW odd naming reasons runs in our family. My brother is a car nut, and loved the Shelby Mustang. He named his daughter Shelby.

Thanks, knowing him,  I'd bet my son in law chose "Christian" accordingly. and the baby was in fact named for a guitarist. Oh well...its better than Hendrix.

Christian Prince's full initials are CPS (like Child Protective Services)...I had some good jokes with mommy and daddy over that, too

I went to junior high with Prince. Amazing talent, even then. Sad loss for the music industry.

I was born into a house on 45th and Drew, just off France Ave, then we moved to Fuller, off France, in Edina (about 57th) off Minnehaha creek. We moved to WI when I was in second grade.
I know the high school was Southwest for this Mpls area...dont remember the Jr high. I went to St Peters on France Ave.
Prince was a little younger, but I did play with Vic Powers son.lol

I have never felt more like I'm on a social media island as I do today.  I couldn't change the station/channel fast enough when 95% of Prince's songs came on the radio or MTV when I was in high school.

I was quite surprised Prince's death warranted a special news break-in on NBC today.

Where do you draw the line?  Does Eric Clapton get a break-in?  Bono?  Steven Tyler?  Tina Turner or Madonna?

I don't know, but the guy won 7 grammys, a Golden Globe, an Academy Award, Super Bowl half time show and sold like 120 million records going head to head against Michael Jackson and Madonna in their prime. Plus he was young and not expected death.

But now it could be a drug overdose, which makes him looked bad, since he and management have always denied due to his health habits.
