Well that's funny, because I don't recall you talking about team body language in your "understanding" of the visit, as noted above.
Did you read the two posts? Both state in different ways we made no special connection with the kid.

Lol.

What a transformation.

In just 3 years MUFINY has gone from being so out of the loop that he believed Henry Ellenson would be a 4 year player to being so in the loop that he was present at the official visit of Quentin Grimes.

Exactly.  Not only present, but also possessed the ability to read the body language of all of the other people present on the visit.

What does the IWB have to say about all this? Does his still have his own forum?

Does IWB have a shred of credibility left?

When MUFNY tells us what activity they did with Grimes on the Saturday night of his visit and in what city they did it (and that event didn't even take insider knowledge to know, so I'm giving him an easy opportunity to at least get one thing right here...).

Seriously, it's one thing to pretend like someone gave you the inside scoop on something within the program.  But to tell people you were present for Quentin Grimes's official visit, and saw how the team interacted with Grimes and give an assessment of his body language during the visit?  LOL!  Major issues going on there.

MUFNY is to Marquette basketball what Heise is to every other subject out there.  Talks with the confidence of someone who can't possibly be wrong, yet never gets anything right.

I ate crow on the Henry thing midway through the first season when I realized I made a bad assessment of his character.  I was there when Henry was early on being looked at while Buzz was still around, saw him at the Al at Team camps etc and I based my assessment on his MU enthusiasm at that juncture. Seemed like a rah rah kid.  I thought he was going to be more of Tyler Hansbrough, soak in the college experience type .   He truly blew up as a player, maybe more than anyone I have ever seen, and went down a different track as we all know.  I am happy for him and MU.

Blew up more than anyone you've ever seen as a player?  You haven't see much basketball then.  He was always a very high major kid.

Ever heard of, oh, I don't know...Joel Embiid?  Wait, let me guess, of course you've heard of him.  You were around for his visit to Kansas when Self sold him on the idea of coming and playing with the Canadian kid you watched visit Lawrence.  You saw the chemistry between those 2 first hand.

By Blowing up I mean Henry rapidly went from being a good player with  interest and dialogue from quality programs to a great player with bona fide actionable offers from the most elite programs.  Remember there was a school of thought in some circles early senior season that Diamond > Henry.  Obviously Henry has demonstrated the opposite.

I want you to watch how things develop in the next couple years at MU.  With or without Quentin Grimes, Maarquette is going to be rising and it's going to be a tough out in the NCAA tournament.  Even if Grimes doesn't come to MU, we could be seeing Bailey, Joey Hauser and Morrow joining an already developing team and just remember, todays college basketball is really different if you have an upperclass dominated team compared to the one and done dominated programs that you call elite.

After many, many years of following recruiting, I don't even worry about it anymore as it's in great hands at MU.  Enjoy the ride.
Spot on. +1000.

Grimes' most recent follows on Twitter are: Sam Hauser, Joey Hauser and ... Seth Greenberg.

So maybe MU is in the race but he's thinking about an analyst slot on ESPN?

Why people crave the approval of strangers on a message board by creating a pseudonym and pretending to have inside information despite being, erm, not exactly proven right again and again, will never cease to amaze me.

Noted message board poster "An6el" insinuates the verbal is in:
https://kansas.247sports.com/Board/59455/Contents/Grimes-109663962?Page=2

Yeah, that guy got famous on Kansas' board because he showed up a week before the Dotson commit and started offering $20,000 bets on Dotson coming to KU. When Dotson committed he suddenly became a legend because of how confident he was. The thing is, the whole world already knew Dotson to Kansas and if he was wrong all he needs to do is create a new username. Oh and someone actually said that he would take his bet but then he kept making excuses for why he wouldn't setup the bet.

No one knows where Grimes is going yet. Per his own account, he is still considering three schools. Anyone who says otherwise is either speculating or making sh*t up because they like to appear like a big man on the internet.

From the beginning I felt this recruitment was going to be about the team chemistry that we felt with QG and vice versa. QG had to feel that MU was a special place with a great group of guys that would allow him to optimize his career.  Our guys had to buy into the idea that QG was going to take them places as well.

I never saw any evidence that our current guys were all that excited about Grimes and really encouraging him. They are not dumb, they know it meant one of them was going to cut.  We have some really talented guys with real upside and thus no one on our team was doing cartwheels to encourage Grimes to join the team. Grimes has been all about the attention etc. and we just didn't fit into that mold.

So while Grimes came here and saw that we are actually a big time athletic program, there was nothing special or no really tight connection that would take it to the level of us closing the deal with him. Maybe that is a good thing. Grimes is a quality player but we have the same level on our team.

I am  a big fan of Greg Elliot. Elliot produced at a high level in a tough  high school conference as a boy amongst men. He still has a way to go physically, but when he gets to the level of playing as man against men in college, he is going to be a very spectacular player both offensive and defensively  for MU.  I also like the fact that he is one of the most unselfish players I have seen in many many years. So to my way of thinking we will have a Sophomore next year with huge upside who plays in a team concept versus a one and done mentality kid.
Ok now I'm sure Big Daddy has been trolling us  ;D
