Not often you see a team that obviously eliminated from a recruit that quickly.

Now we need Quickley to commit to Kentucky and Dotson to commit to Kansas (both projected to do so).

But you would think that with each top PG recruit that commits to the blue bloods over Grimes that Wojo and our entire staff making him our only goal stands out even more.

Agreed.  Though part of the issue could be if he would rather be near home.  Baylor and A&M are obviously much closer and have been on him for awhile too.

Think you're making way too much of this. I love Marquette. Proud that I earned my degree there. But it's not the only good university in Wisconsin or the Midwest. MU isn't for everyone.

Interesting.  I can envision why he would quickly take that down but it is a glimpse into what a young man thinks at the moment.  I'd be somewhat surprised if he'd still head to Arizona.  If Kentucky and Kansas were to become less attractive options because of other commitments, I do like our chances against the Texas schools.  But of course this is still very uphill.  Time will tell.

I Think Texas maybe the biggest problem.  They have commitments from Bamba (one of the top Big out of HS) and Coleman (High ranked Guard) and is friends with "Q" and recruiting him hard.

Wojo not offering Quinerly, Quickley or Dotson is a true stroke of genius.

Bamba almost certainly won't be there when Grimes arrives, so that's a non-factor.

We gotta ask Jimmy for a favor on this one, let him know the Texas to MU path is paved in gold

Yeah, Bamba is a stud, his half brother is a nut.  Unfortunate, too, because Bamba seems like a pretty grounded, well spoken kid.

I think you are missing where the humiliation may lie.  Whisky would be taking a recruit whose father is a mid-major assistant, won't be here long enough to see him play in Madison as the MU job is a stepping stone and comes from a program that is squirmy.

If he wants to go to Kentucky or Kansas or Arizona, he better get used to getting recruited over.

Says the number one advocate of Marquette recruiting over players?????

I guess you don't buy into Wojo's recent pronouncements that MU isn't backing down from anyone on the recruiting trail.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
