Whats team camp all about

From what I've heard, it's less of a camp and more of a chance to play some games.  Teams that sign up get a certain number of games vs other teams that signed up.  It didn't sound like there was too much coaching going on like you would see at the skills camps.  Source: the varsity coach at my school, who (last I heard) decided not to attend.

My son will be playing in it this year.  Teams are guaranteed to play about 4 games and the kids study in the dorms overnight.  There are about 40 teams that participate.  It was at Madison last year.

The teams are from the Midwest.  We're in Chicagoland and the kids are excited to play.  But it's not much of a recruiting tool.  There are no prospects on my sons team.  It's just an opportunity to play

Not sure exactly what you're talking about but the Marquette team camp wasn't in Madison last year... it was at the Al.

Eke played in it and so did Days.....it's open to the public so it gave those that went an early look at Eke for the first time.

Bonfire behind Schroeder.  S'mores, real chili. Sonoran salsa, male bonding.

Field trip to Waukesha farmers market on Saturday morning.

My girls basketball team is taking part in the team camp at UNC-Charlotte this weekend. Just an excuse to play 2-3 games each of two days against other good teams in the offseason. Gets the athletes involved when otherwise they wouldn't be hoopin' as a team.

Article on Jeenathan Williams recruitment. No Marquette mention. But its from an ACC website and the article only mentioned ACC schools.

Mr. Sand-Knit

Good athlete, little skill, no right hand.

I dont see where we would need a wing that is less skilled than bailey, cain, hauser, and elliot.

No thanks

Well, if he commits at least we know where all your irrational Luke hatred will be redirected.

I'm fine with him, if that less talented player can throw in 1000+ points and 500+ rebounds in less than three full seasons

Does anybody know who is the lead guy on staff in recruiting Texas and what kind of connections he has there? It seems like we've been recruiting Texas pretty hard lately.

I have seen him in person, both in high school and AAU.He is a Big East , ACC level , Big Ten level etc player  and very much in the pre Wojo era style of MU players. Absolutely not a project. Buzz is recruiting him hard.

Lots of kids need to develop their off hand, that is not a disqualifying sin. The good news is the kid himself acknowledges it.

I know Stan and Wojo did the visits with Ladee and Grimes. Not sure if that means Stan is the lead recruiter there, but would make sense given his former coaching gig. California and Texas are the two biggest recruiting hotbeds near the southwest.

Okay guys, with the new offers out there I have officially closed the book on the '17 recruits, turned the page, and reassigned that one available scholarship to next year's class.  I've added the names that were announced via tweet yesterday.  Again, I sincerely appreciate everyone's contribution in keeping the list fresh. Please take a look and give me input as appropriate.

One thing I really need some help with.  Is 1, 2 and 4 available scholarships still accurate with the recent comings and goings? Remember the 'rule' that every available scholly is claimed by a 4 year guy and no transfers are assumed.

Edit: I think '20-'21 becomes 5 because of Ed Morrow.  Agree?
