I trust Steve Bell knows more about Michigan players than any national experts.

http://bankhoops.com/michigan-player-rankings/

A team that includes Howard, Cheatham, Elliott, Cain, both Hausers, John, Froling, Eke, John and another recruit in 2018 won't be able to compete with anyone in the country?  Top 10-15 team in my mind.

I haven't seen Elliott or Baker outside of highlight videos. Sure, from a ranking standpoint it's easy to see Baker is ranked higher than Elliott. But coaches see players differently than the gurus. And a late bloomer like Elliott is really a wildcard to rank.  But I guarantee the MU coaches have seen Elliott way more than the gurus. Unless anyone has talked to the staff, we have no idea how they rank Baker vs Elliott.

I'll take either. If both want to come, great. But my guess would be MU lands just one. Add a grad transfer either way. Not a whole lot excites me on the traditional transfer front. I prefer  Joey Hauser and a HS PG or CG, ideally  with some size.

Excited to see what transpires in the coming week.

Yep.  Things should start to happen pretty quickly.

Thank you.  There was a previous article from Michigan/Detroit which lists Eke as #7 and Elliott as #13 I believe.  With all the mentions/thought/whatever of Eke being redshirted next year for development purposes, how does that reflect on Elliott who was ranked abit behind Eke.  Just didn't make sense with all the hype on this board regarding Elliott possibly coming here.

I presume there may be a few here who have seen Elliott play in person, so its nice to read about his new ranking from the experts in Michigan who have.

How do you know Stan is working hard on that front?  If you have evidence of that, please share

Most likely frequent, if not constant, contact with Jemarl's posse if not Jemarl himself. I am sure Stan is updating MUFNY often as well. If Stan was HC we would already have Jemarl. Not saying, I'm just saying.

So here's a question for you guys.  Let's say that Elliott commits this week and then Baker calls us and agrees to come a week after that.  Do you take both and then limit the third scholly to ONLY a grad transfer such that there's room for Joey to sign for '18?  Discuss.

My guess is this is a first come first serve deal. I think Wojo wants two transfers (pure conjecture). That said, if Elliot commits next week and Baker wants in a couple weeks down the road and most of our transfer targets have found other homes, I am sure we would welcome him.

Look, I want Elliot. But there are a lot of other exciting options out there right now.

Truth.

If Wojo gets Elliott this spring and Joey Hauser to sign next fall, MU will be able to play with anyone in the country.  It's that simple.

I know your philosophy is to look ahead to 2018 when you think they will be really good(and I don't disagree), but next season COULD be as important as any in recent memory..it's not about making the tourney now, it's about getting there and advancing..Give me two STUD grad transfers next year even without Elliott, and this thing will be Really fun to watch next year. besides, that just frees up two more scholarships for the 2018 class then in which i'd be confident they could land Joey, and two players better than Elliott(Dusnmo comes to mind as one). I just don't see Elliott as being anything more than a role player his entire career. Give me big time studs, and THEN we can go to war.

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

I am a fan of taking two grad transfers. I think it is a very good solution to addressing short term needs while allowing longer term solutions to take place as well. The grad route IMO has a good chance of keeping the momentum going and allows for more of a balanced roster as far as classes going forward. I think no matter how it all goes down Warriors will be all good. Per BD, looking forward to this week, thanks for the earlier post BD.

Considering a good number of those guys you listed haven't even put on a MU uniform, yeah you're jumping the gun, but I hope you're right :)

I've been pretty good with my projections over the years with recruits.  I like the looks of Elliott from what I've seen on video clips and from newspaper writings.

I have no idea if Elliott or Baker will be better, but once players hit the college game, recruiting rankings are just a guideline, and a barely accurate one. Sure, the top-25 kids tend to be great (but not always), but I'm not sure there's that big a difference between top-40 and top-75, or top-100 and top-150, and so on.

Maybe Baker will be the better player, but at this point, we really don't know. From a fan perspective, really just personal preference.

What about this Egor guy? 6-5, 210. Is he a possible one-n-done?
Guess Joey's Iowa Barnstormers put on a lazy performance last night
and got beat. How many are we allowed? Elliott, Baker or Clifton Moore.
Is Egor eligible now or later? We have to have Joey. Confused.

Also--Ed Morrow and my guy Dickerson.

Didn't you just say that getting Joey hauser would just be gravy?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

TedBaxter

I said getting Elliott this spring is the most important thing and any other recruit this spring would be gravy.

Joey is the guy in 2018.

I'd be very surprised if Wojo a) had the opportunity to sign both, b) decided to sign both of them, if he could.  We've got to get a point guard at some point.

Considering Igor has 1 year of eligibility left, yes he's 1 and done.

Anyone hearing anything at all on Koulechov? Sliding him in as a KR replacement and stacking this squad with shooters would take next season from good to very good. Hope we have interest and can sell him

Stan is on this one.  Biggest issue is that he has option to play in europe right now.  KR is being very helpful in sharing what this last year did for him.
