Torrence Watson fyi.

Torrence Watson, explosive versatile unselfish 6'4 2018 shooting guard concluded his Junior year high school season today. His Whitfield school St. Louis high school team finished as state runner up in Missouri class 3 (class 5 is largest) to Public High League St. Louis Northwest. So this is considered "small schools".  He finished with 26pts in the title game, and he had 29pts 12 rbs in semifinals, including 18 of 21 from the free throw line.  .....He plays for Team Ramey AAU along with former Marquette target and Louisville point guard commit Courtney Ramey (yes his dad's program), and SLU power forward commit Carte'Are Gordon.  (Those two play on the same high school team Webster Groves, which qualified for large schools class 5 Final Four today.).....

His recruitment has been wide open with interest and offers from many schools including Marquette, SLU, Mizzou, Illinois, Butler, Creighton, West Virginia, Iowa St, Kansas St. etc...His level of play keeps betting better and better.

interesting Friday night-when Stevens Point beat Eau Claire North after
trailing by big time with 11 minutes left--then Joey took over, scored
28 and had 19 boards as Point won. They play No. 1 Oshkosh North
and former MU recruit Phillip Flory at Marshfield today. Winner to
Madison. Will be there.
Earl please send game report. Thanks.

SPASH won big and will be playing Madison Memorial in the semis.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Gus Gansaskas (MUFINY's user name on the Dodds board) all of the sudden appeared on a Purdue forum posting that Xavier Tillman was going to MSU because he has a pregnant girlfriend. Meanwhile, MUFINY was posting the same thing here. He went so far as to link to the Purdue board and said he found a Purdue insider saying the same thing. He quoted himself as a source! Now Tillman did end up at MSU. So maybe he was right, who knows. But that was meta-scooping on a whole new level.
Gus has the inside scoop and turned out to be right .  Good detective work on the true story.

Awesome. Would've been cool to see if SPASH could've extended their win streak had Joey been healthy all year.

Sorry, you were referring to the win streak.  My mistake.

Stevens Point beat Oshkosh North 76-61. Joey had 25. Point shot
65% 11 of 18 in 2nd half. Blair a guard from Point had 33, 6 3's.
Flory former MU recruit had 4 for Oshkosh. North was No. 1 in D-1 and
Point No. 3. Point is the defending D-1 champ, thanks to Sam.

Sounds like Bazz had himself another major contributing high school recruit all lined up.

IIRC Flory had a pretty devastating injury or injuries derail his basketball career.

How are we supposed to go full SLU with that attitude?

Idk man, he wouldn't have gotten into UW to earn a degree in agricultural journalism.

Agricultural journalism is out of vogue...now the degree everyone is after is life science communication.

I like everything but the GPA.

Don't care. So long as he stays eligible doesn't matter to me. Plus the Marquette tutoring system for athletes is insane.

Well, I mean, he was dealing with the death of his father, so I'm willing to cut him some slack on the GPA.
Though I'm not particularly concerned by a 2.6 GPA, regardless of those circumstances. As Cardale Jones sort of said, he wasn't recruited to play school.

MUFNY please pass along the message to the Cain family that Jamal will be in very good hands academically at Marquette and not to worry about some people hiding behind a computer screen discussing his grades as a 17/18 year old kid.  Whether or not I had a killer GPA or a horrible GPA in high school, I'm glad my GPA didn't get the attention of some middle aged men on the internet.

(But seriously, if anybody in Cain's "inner circle" reads through here, I for one cannot wait to see Cain grow as a basketball player and a person, and his grades are his own business, not mine.)
