What is off, the heights listed or his conclusion?

Maybe I am not reading Sultan's comment right.  However, it suggested to me that Katin, Sam or Sandy can cover the 4 spot like Jamil and Jae guarded the paint. MU won the Big East and made the Sweet 16 in 2011-12 with Otule out with an ACL and Gardner out a significant portion of the Big East season. Jamil was severely under appreciated for his contributions that year.

Katin was recruited out of high school as a PG, and has shown no compunction to rebound in his career.  Sandy's best defensive game was guarding Hayes who fancied himself as a perimeter player, chucking up ill-timed shots. He is athletic but still not physical.  Sam is a freshman, has slower footwork in the paint, and will get muscled and schooled.  No offense to any of those three.

To think that those three have the physicality and athleticism of Jae and Jamil is off, though.  Marquette is vulnerable here.  Wojo knows it.  The base defense has to be pushed out to pressure the edges.  If the ball gets inside on Marquette in the physical Big East, Katie bar the door.  Not true in 2011-12.

Have to agree with the Doc. on this one.  It really isn't about height.  Its about strength, body type and type of game.  MU will be very vulnerable at this position.  But you can still win even with this major weakness.  Got to create turn overs, use ball pressure and hope you are hitting your 3s.  But to think we'll be ok at the 4 because we have a couple guys within a couple inches is kind of self deceiving.

Thanks for elaborating, guys.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Coach Izzo was in Stevens Point last night to watch Joey Hauser play football.

Well I didn't mean to imply that they would be as effective.  Just that with their height, they can be matched up against power forward types.

I don't know his mother and father and how great of a family they are and his study habits.
BUT I did get a solid 6 hours of sleep last night and only spilled half of my smoothie today.

Having said that, I feel pretty confident saying he isn't coming to us.

Put Cohen in the wrong year.
Interesting that that happen. The number of players 200 pounds or heavier is correct and the average weights are correct. The only thing I can think that happen is that originally I had Franklin in and removed him because he was a walk on. Franklin weighed 215 and Marotta weighs 165. When I decided to remove them I must of mistakenly deleted Cohen and then reentered him in the wrong group.

In some thread I posted that Sam might be at a disadvantage, because he has been practicing against players smaller than him and those players are smaller than Big East power forwards. Someone posted that Sam footwork was slow, which made me think about it. While practicing against smaller players is a disadvantage size wise, I think there is a flip side to that. He is also practicing against players that are probably quicker than the average Big East power forward. This could make his rotation on defense appear slower than it is. I am not sure one is more important than the other, but we really will not know what Sam can do defensively until he plays against actual power forwards.

Curious to know how these schools fit together — and ultimately what sets one of them apart.

St. Louis and Marquette are private Jesuit universities. Both are located in major Midwestern cities. Both are top 100 schools for academics. Both programs have young coaches in the midst of rebuilding projects (Travis Ford is just 46 and in his first year at SLU; he also, coincidentally or not, previously coached at UMass). Both St. Louis and Milwaukee are best known as beer towns and baseball towns. While both previously belonged to the same athletic conference (most recently Conference USA), Marquette now plays in the Big East, St. Louis in the A10.

UMass is the largest public university in New England. Located in a town of about 40,000 just outside Springfield. Another top 100 school. It's closest to home for Hasahn. The program is coming off 2 straight seasons without postseason play. UMass competes in the A10.

UNLV is a public institution 1,500 miles from any of the other schools. It's located in a major metro area. It's not noted as a great school academically. UNLV is coming off some rocky seasons, has a first-year head coach and competes in the Mountain West Conference.

I would hate to lose Joey to Michigan State, even more than losing him to Wisconsin.

Would he really pick UW to play against his brother?

I believe MU, UW and MSU are the three schools that he's visited so far. It's still early in the process, but they would seem to be the main contenders.

Loosely, I think there are reasons why it would be good to hold the last scholarship for spring. But Hashan wasn't willing to wait.
