If I remember correctly, I think I saw she was a CPA. Doesn't mean she is a rocket surgeon or anything but you don't exactly roll out of bed to pass those exams.

Thanks man!  Thems is some big shoes to fill, let me tell you.  Ya think we grow on trees or something?

Most CPAs are smart enough to be rocket surgeons.
Have some patience, FFS.

This has me excited. Even if we don't get Tillman, we still have an excellent shot with another great 2017 big.

How do we think the staff ranks Tillman vs. French?  Is one a priority over the other, or is it first come, first serve?

I can't see a scenario where we end up with both (over signing by one), but perhaps the staff may know something we don't.

Here is some video and an article on 2018 PG Duane Washington Jr. He plays on the same team as Xavier and they have excellent chemistry on the court.  Lots of schools have shown interest including MU  . MSU is pushing hard with Washington. I think He would actually be a nice pick up for us .

It's Xavier's offer to take. Though there seems to be some belief that we might oversign. I personally don't see it, but me being wrong is hardly uncommon.

Xavier announcing his decision on September 30. Hasahn has one more official scheduled at St. Louis on September 30. So we will know one way or the other what the coaches intention regarding to over signing are. Xavier is a long shot as he is really being pursued very hard by Izzo, and completely fits into their scheme of things as they have a shortage of bigs. He  has made multiple visits to MSU and Izzo is  also pursing his friend Duane Washington . Remember, we are also still pursuing Nwora hard, going to his school for open gym etc. So if we are not going to over sign we may be in a first come first served mode.

The coaching staff followed up the Hasahn visit with an on site visit at Commonwealth Academy the following week. It is my opinion they want French very much, as he is not only a superb athletic specimen but also a very smart player who embraces the dirty work necessary . Very hard to teach that mentality and rare to find it.

French has an opportunity to play immediately at all his final schools. So it appears as if the French decision is the classic one many kids go through when choosing a college, do I want to stay close to home or go away to school and what kind of experience do I want to have . If the wants to stay near his home in Middletowne and have the classic college town experience  in a place like Amherst MA, he will select U Mass. If he wants to go away and be part of an urban setting he will select MU or St. Louis ( obviously we are light years better than SLU in that regard). If he wants to go away to a glamorous place he will select UNLV.

Having a recruit like French from a premium New York AAU program is a big plus for our program going forward.

Don't know where you get the longshot idea.  At this point we are either the favorite, or a coin toss with MSU.

I am very keen on us getting Tillman. His skill set fits perfectly with the players we have and are on the way.

I believe this recruit is a long shot ,in that MSU is in a place right now where it can essentially they offer the same early playing time opportunity we can. Similarly, Purdue is in the same position as Swanigan will likely go pro this year . So that defeats one of our biggest selling points.   MSU is a lock at being a top 25 team, in the tournament and high visibility with many kids going to the NBA. Purdue recently has been a top 25 and tournament team. We, on the other hand,  are offering a vision and a plan that is just starting to show green sprouts. It may be that the family buys in to our vision and the flowers bloom. However, you have to remember this is a once in a lifetime thing for the family and the risk in a Michigan State or Purdue decision is often times ( wrongly I would add) looked as less. Finally, MSU is independently recruiting his high school buddy Duane Washington Jr. for 2018, and Izzo is selling that concept hard.

Tillman to MU is as much a long shot as Henry turning pro after one year was.

He may go to MSU, but it isn't a "long shot" that Marquette gets him.

Because he's 6'8" and 270 lbs of muscle, I'm guessing.  Delsman might have been able to take out McGuire, but I don't see it happening with Tillman.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Let me re word it. Instead of "long shot", the probabilities favor MSU.

I think there are non basketball reasons as well.

Henry was a slam dunk to go pro from the jump so I hope X's odd of coming to MU are the same.

...as he plans his trip to Vanderbilt and continues visiting Marquette every weekend he's not playing.

Herro to Arizona or a team that had yet to offer.

As I stated, Herro to Wisconsin or Arizona.  Glad to have him in the fold.

Next, Nobal Days.  Down to Marquette and Wisconsin.  He will be a Badger.
