Nope. McGary led them to the Championship Game. He averaged 30.7 mpg in the tournament, 14.3 ppg, and 10.7 rpg. He was an absolute beast in that tournament. Every single game was an offensive rating over 100. Other guys certainly helped, but he was the most consistent player on that Michigan team in the tourney. No way in hell they get that far without him.

But that wasn't at all my point when I mentioned Embiid and McGary. I was referring to big men that come from out of nowhere to rocket to the top-10 in the rankings. Both Embiid and McGary did that (though McGary settled back around the 20s in final rankings). Epperson's a nice prospect and a good option to have, but not a guy I expect to see vying for All-American honors like Embiid and McGary.

McGary was a 20 year old freshman during that tournament, hard to compare too.

I'd be thrilled if any one of Tillman, French or Epperson are added to this class.

I looked at the wrong season.  I forgot that it was his freshman year that he did that.

Weren't we told a commitment from Epperson was on its way months ago?  I kind of figured when it didn't happen that the ship had sailed, and personally I'm not too upset about that if it's the case.

One person said that and iirc it was based on him being Australian and actually being able to make a campus visit. Epperson is playing for La Lumiere this year and will likely use all his official visits. He's still on the radar for mu though Tillman is definitely the priority.

Fwiw, Epperson is actually ranked higher than anyone we are currently recruiting

If it comes down to X vs Epperson. I'm taking the slightly shorter guy that outweighs the taller guy by 50 lbs. X looks like a beast.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

This is correct, the timeline changed when his decision to prep at La Lu was made, will now be stateside for the year. They had been recruiting him for quite some time themselves.

Yep, a real Crowder/Davante-type Big East banger. X is the type of guy we've been missing

The most important thing with Nobal is we have been there since the beginning.

Not the very beginning, I hope.  That would have been weird.

French is maybe as close to Crowder as you'll get in this class and plays bigger than Jae.

The exact type of player you need in the BE. Would love him at MU.

I have a hard time believing he plays bigger than Jae but I've never seen him so maybe I'm wrong.

No option to make an official for another 15+ months, a''iina?

I'm aware. Still just an unofficial visit.

Interesting to see parts of their custom pitch in the background....

Agreed - pretty cool if it is an actual tangible checklist where they monitor his wants at the outset vs. how they are meeting them over the course of his recruitment.

I would love to take a look at that list. Specifically I saw "proximity to Michigan but far enough away".  Wonder what that whole sentence is. Cause by no means could Michigan State be considered far from Grand rapids.

Could commit on the unofficial or that's what some on the Wisconsin boards think could happen.

I think every message board thinks that every recruit is going to commit everytime they take any kind of visit.
