I see John as a 4/5 & French as a 4/3. One is a "big", one is a combo forward. Think both could come (nh)

I haven't seen him live, and maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see French playing anywhere except the four.  Inside seems to be where he's most comfortable and he has the weight and wingspan to play there.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I saw a quote somewhere that he said Madison, "keeps getting better each visit"

There's already a street in Madison named after him:  Herro Lane.  For realz.

He loves Madison and Koenig and has been working out with Poole.

Happy to be wrong, but have heard he isn't close to an announcement.

Travis Ford was named SLU's new coach March 30th.  Since then he has gotten a commitment from Jordan Goodwin, a top 50 2G from nearby Belleville.  I pretty sure that the pitch to French is: be the man from the start and be a part of rebuilding a mortibound program.  That can sound enticing compared to come in and meet the challenge to compete for playing time inside which is what I'm guessing is close to what MU's pitch is.

So often these things come down to which coach connects the best, for whatever reason. Sometimes, it's an assistant coach.

Yes, I know that is some really next-level analysis on my part.

Heard he was announcing "soon" from someone and then Googled "Tyler Herro" and multiple Tweets pop up (including from Mark Miller) saying there are rumors he will commit soon, one of the guys saying he will commit to UW soon, possibly today.

But what does the Crystal Ball say?
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

And he was was all geared up in Wisconsin gear for the Lambeau game the week before. He put a post on Insta and Koenig copied Dekker on a remark and all the youngins' were saying how cool it was the he is buddies with Koenig and Dekker. My son showed me the post last week. If he goes early, it's definitely Bucky. As I stated before, his mom told me she wanted him to go to WI in July. If you take off the homer glasses, UW is not the UW that many of us old-timers grew up hating. They have had a ton of recent bball success and bringing recruits to fall Saturdays in Madison for home games is pretty impressive. I totally get it. These recruits grew up with a final four, a championship game and 18 straight NCAA appearances. Don't have to like it, it's just reality.

We are so lucky that Bo didn't force Riley Dearring to transfer (he eventually did anyway) and they had no spot for Sam Hauser back during the recruiting process. If Sam went Bucky (which I heard they were just waiting on as their first option), we could be looking at not even being in the game for Joey. At least if Sam and MU have a great year, we control our own destiny in a way.

I have a feeling that Gard has a little more zest for recruiting compared to Bo which means it might get harder than we want to admit as well.

I also received a call from a friend Izzo and four or five of his assistants are at SPASH this afternoon visiting Joey.

Gard also embraced the "old guard" sorry for the pun, welcoming back all former players and changing the culture. He used to sort of ignore Bennett's guys and was always about Bo. Gard changed the bball alumni golf outing to WI golf outing from Bo Ryan Golf Outing. Little things happening all over.

Jon Bryant (Bennet's guy) was training Badger recruit Brad Davison before he really had a great AAU season this spring up in MN. Bryant reaches out to Gard when he gets the job and all of the sudden the process moves at warp speed. Davison signs. No way Bryant even makes that call with Bo there. That Davison kid is a stud that was just starting to take off. I'm sure Jay Bee can speak more about his game -- a little Deiner-esque.

It is all changing over there and we definitely need to up our recruiting game in the region.

Bo loved his recruiting trips.  He just didn't get out of his hotel room much on them.

I think it's us or MSU. Unless Sam hated it here. But I don't think he will.

Fred Garvin

For whatever reason, kids love school where there is football. That is a factor,it maybe shouldn't be,but it is.That is playing a roll in Herro and Joey.

Herro is a badger,that didn't take long.
