When's the Gill visit to Maryland?  We do know that Kalif is heading to Providence next Saturday.

Gill's visit is probably over or just about over.  We should be hearing news soon, FBOW.

Next men up, hey?

Will probably know soon with Gill. Young has another trip to Providence, although he has already had an unofficial there, If he goes on an official I think Cooley and Company will be in a mode of trying to get him to close the deal.

Providence COOLeyed another player. So they now have plenty of roster spots. Also Taurean Thompson, another 2016 big man just trimmed his list from 4 to 3, Providence was the one cut. My guess is that they are now all in on Young irregardless of Bentil's decision.

Typical gushing article from someone who has just learned that Kostas exists.  I particularly liked the part about how he had an offer from Marquette.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Glad you enjoyed the article. I was encouraged to see the offer from Marquette listed.  If we strike out on Gill and Kalif it appears as if Kostas may be the next man up.

Very true.  It is really odd.  Not sure what the obsession is.  Was he even the best player on Dominican's team this season?  (Honest question...I really don't know...which means he can't be that good because there was certainly not a lack of noise around the area for Duane Wilson and Diamond Stone, or even for Kwamain Mitchell, who turned out to be a better college player than he even was at Dominican).

I just think he is a guy we should be going after based on his size, skills, genes and upside potential.  Yes I recognize he comes across as a string bean right now and thus he is in the project category, but I believe he is going to be like the girl everyone thought was homely and then becomes PMOY.  I might be wrong on him, but a lot of top schools are examining his potential. The Draft Express guy had reasonably constructive things to say about him. He is not a make or break recruit but I would sure like to see us get him .

It's May 9 of his senior year and the guy still can't find an offer to any even bad major programs, even with his last name being what it is. That should tell you everything you need to know. Most high school recruits have been committed for over a year. He simply isn't good.

I think for most posters it is the fact that over the years we generally have had no height. Over the year's MU has continuously passed on players with height as the coaches were obsessed with guards and switchables. There are a lot of serviceable bigmen from WI that have played at out of state universities that MU never showed much interest in. Hegner at Creighton for example. Most bigmen need to be developed and you need to have one in every class to continue the progression. What we have is a senior and a sophomore. In my opinion we would be much better off, if the team included a senior, junior, sophomore and freshmen 6'9" or taller player.

Very fair assessment.  No doubt the preference for next year is to sign a guy who can actively contribute.  Let's hope we land either Kalif or Gill.  But absent that, I'd sure try to sign a 6' 9" guy who might contribute down the road rather than leave the scholarship open or sign another guard.
