They are to Shaka.  IMO, they will continue to be the backbone of the program as long as he is the coach.  Witness the recent late signing of a 2026 HS player.

Does he reclassify and take #15?  Or is he locked in as a 2027?

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Don't love that center offer. Another center at project didn't seem like somthing we needed

Josh Clark size but a way better athlete.  Looks like he had a few monster games last weekend during the first live period.

I don't think we should offer anyone

I don't understand how a 7'1 high school kid that moves like this could have basically no high major suitors before now. Just on size and athleticism alone in those videos you can't tell me there are 200 better recruits in that class.

This looks less like a Clark or Hamilton type project, and more of a guy who recently blew up at an AAU tournament. Not saying he will turn into anything, but it's not COMPLETELY out of nowhere.

Agreed - this is a guy I'm totally fine in taking a flyer on in a typical year.

Hound - Maybe he has no offers
( ok, Ark St and Detroit FFS ) because he ummm ... can't play basketball!

Just because someone is tall and
" athletic " doesn't make you a basketball player anymore than being a really small, petite male makes you a
Jockey.

He also recently picked up an offer from SLU...so he's trending in the right direction at least.

Again, I am not saying he's a super star, but he's not an out-of-nowhere project like Hamilton and Clark were.

I appreciate hearing about MU offerings, but think you were too quick to assume that this was a rerun of Marquette's version of the Broadway play Hamilton.

Sultan's and TAMU's posts make it clear that there is more potential to this guy, and if he comes to Marquette, he just might become at the least a solid backup 5. The offer from SLU is interesting.

Sorry, this is a bad comparison. We are talking about a 7'1" high schooler who already appears to have decent control of his body. All high schoolers are PROSPECTS. They ALL still need to be developed. But you rarely find guys with these physical tools. Even if he "can't play basketball" right now (which is laughable given the highlight reel), I'd bet good money he ends up a top 100 recruit based on potential alone.

Is he a good fit to contribute next year? Probably not but I'd be in favor of bringing in someone like him vs. the other options we have at the 5.

If SLU wants him, you know he is not just a stud but a probable All-American.

Sheek will be in the NBA after one year at SLU and then this guy will be their starter at the 5.  ;D

Maybe he can play / maybe he can't ..

But SS is 0 for 4 on " project " bigs.

Keeyan, AL ( now at UWM ), Hamilton and
Clark. So ... I will remain skeptical.
