Yes, you posting this is clearly a sign that someone lives rent-free in someone's mind.

I think Marquette had moved on quite some time ago, but Adam Boyd has committed to Louisiana Tech.

Well, good luck, Adam. Conference USA, then Sun Belt. We weren't competing vs. big hoop names for him.

I'm just grateful we're not competing with Dayton, St. Thomas or Radford for him.

On3/Rivals has updated their 2026 rankings. Sheek reclassified, so no longer ranked. Ethan Johnston not listed in top 150. Nash Walker not listed either. Marquette targets:

31. Lucas Morillo
103. Alex Egbuonu

JFP OR Juan......is MU still involved here? It didn't seem like it but.....

MARQUETTE

"Coach [Shaka] Smart has them playing some of the most exciting and complete basketball in the country. It's high energy and defense-first. They play unselfish basketball, and that's what I love. Marquette feels like a brotherhood that wins together. His former players all love him. He plays freshmen and in a portal time, he still focuses on his guys only

JTJ3

Not a name I still expected to see pop up connected to Marquette.  Interesting.

Sometimes guys keep schools on their list after the school has stopped recruiting them.......🤷♂️

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

I really think it's down to Egbuonu or Morillo for the last spot.  I'm not even sure Marquette watched Bouie during the last evaluation period.

But if a completely off the radar player like Nash Walker can commit, I guess I can't rule out a player that has consistently mentioned Marquette.

My assumption too.

Hey, at least we know Shaka has built a good program when recruits keep Marquette on their list to make it look better.

MU82

Yet another top-100 recruit specifically cites Shaka's recruit/develop/retain philosophy.

I'd take Bouie in a heartbeat, but was also surprised we're still on the list and don't think we're close to a front-runner, if we're even still in contact.

BCHoopster

Saw Donavan Davis is visiting 4 schools, MU not one of them, is he still on the radar for MU?

JTJ3

Davis is visiting 4 football schools for football games.  He'll be here once basketball season starts.  Not worried at all.

Thanks, not worried at all, have lots of options for 2027

That's good news.  I have zero inside knowledge or reason for this, but kind of felt like between him, Dooney, and Kohnen, Davis was seeming like the least likely target to land.  Some huge talents in the state for 2027.

wades - Of those three, which do you think will be the best college basketball player?

I'd rank them Dooney 1, Davis 2, and Kohnen 3.  But I don't know that Dooney will be a 4 year player, so maybe that changes how you prioritize those guys.

There are other posters here who can probably give you more informed and better answers to that, though.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

I rate Dooney and Donovan very closely.  Think they both have star potential.

Kohnen is probably a step below IMO, but still very good.
