That article is proof why OMax shooting up draft boards is an unqualified good thing for Marquette.

I have no idea what he is thinking. I just find it interesting that MU and Wisconsin are not listed as schools of interest on his 247 profile.

MU and Wisconsin are there--they only show 5 schools on the player profile screen, but if you click the link that says "View complete team list," 15 teams are listed including both MU and Wisconsin:

Kon will be at MU on Thursday for an unofficial, per Potrykus.

Some good quotes in here

Abraham talks Marquette
“My first visit was to Marquette,” Abraham said. “My favorite part of that visit was the coaches hanging out with the players. The overall feel I got there was real, and everyone in the program on the team, was connected. I like the culture they have there.

They play fast, and they play together. There isn’t any one-on-one; they play as a team, and I really mess with that. Then you have O-Max (Olivier Maxence Prosper) getting an opportunity in the draft. I can really see myself in his game and the way he plays. That shows me I can play in the Marquette system.

“I wouldn’t say I like Marquette just because of my dad (Faisal Abraham played at Marquette from 1993-97). The coaches and Coach (Shaka) Smart has been recruiting me heavily. Coach Dre (DeAndre Haynes), Coach (Neil) Berry they’ve all been talking to me and my parents. They’ve been recruiting me and getting to know my family. They’ve put in work, but things are still wide open.”

Interesting interview. Not sure I like him stressing how important it is to him to play right away. If you’re really #15 nationally, that should just take care of itself. Also seems to be in tension with his winning and team first talking points.

One thing I expect from 17 year olds is logical consistency.

I’m not really knocking the kid; he’s entitled to go wherever he likes. But when you’re trying to read tea leaves it make it hard to tell whether he wants to score a ton of points for losers at ND or Louisville or win basketball games at UVA or MU.

Shrewsberry's ND will be good by next year. Booth probably one of our recruits between Kon and Muhammed. They will be good.

Louisville sucks, but i think his AAU team wanted him to go there a bit, they'll be better, and they probably have the best NIL of the teams that want him.

Does anyone else feel just fantastic about our recruiting? Like better than they can ever remember? These guys all seem good and like they wanna come here? I remember thinking in the past "Well, lets see how he does" and each new guy I'm like "Let's see what he can do." Feels good, man.

Yes, for incoming Freshman classes.

Still slightly concerned about the front court depth for just this upcoming season. We have 7 guards and 4 forwards.

Are there any decent Grad transfer forwards available?

Are there any decent Grad transfer forwards available?

1. Marquette will start a 4 guard system from this point on, we'll have forwards that can play those spots, but it is 4 guards. This is the pitch to recruits.

2. No their arn't any good grad transfer forwards out their is Jordan Brown, and everyone else kinda sucks, has legal issues, or is at least not better than ben gold.

Plotting forwards, like the Will McNair (i can't think of other bigs) types, arn't good basketball players and would be worse in our system. Their only value is rebounding and rim protection, but they can't move their feet fast enough to switch to save their lives, or they can't pass and dribble well enough on the offensive end of the court.

Look at the finals, the only bigs playing were Jokic and Bam. Why, because they are elite passers, who can switch onto people.

You're are better offer playing 5 small guards and taking more threes than you are playing someone who can't defend a sole in our system or pass the ball at a high level.

I don't think that's the strategy.

Parham, Owens, Knuppel, Abraham all forwards.

Guards are just what we have now. Still going to start 3 guards 2 forwards.

I would call Parham and Abraham forwards. I'd call Owens a wing. I'd call Knueppel a shooting guard.
