The only schools I could imagine the Big East expanded for are Notre Dame, Kansas, and Gonzaga. I don't know that any of those are realistic, but I think that's the level the school needs to be at for the Big East to be interested.

Don't hold your breath on those schools.

The conference is perfect at 11. Twenty conference games with Home and Homes. Don"t mess with happy.

The Big East will expand again by 2025, in advance of the next TV deal.  Fox will want more content for more value.  With other power basketball conferences all at twelve teams and higher, the BE will look to keep pace competitively as best it could.  Everything has a price, including our love affair with the round robin.  Expansion is coming, but it won't be right now.

And it won't be Gonzaga (or Notre Dame or Kansas).

Not sure if it's actually the case or not, but feels like we're competing with Xavier for recruits a lot since Shaka has taken over.

Updated offers for 2022:

#44 AJ Casey - 6'8" 190lb PF out of Chicago (In his top 8)
#51 Ty Rodgers - 6'7 195 lb SF out of Flint (In his top 9)
#172 Desmond Claude - 6'5 190 lb PG out of Connecticut (official visit in October)
#174 Jeffery Brazziel - 6'5" 170lb SG out of Milwaukee (taken several unofficials)
#238 Jaret Teheran Valencia - 6'8" 175lb out of Columbia
3-star Alpha Chimbambe - 6'4 200lb SF out of Los Angeles (taken an unofficial)
3-star Bryce Lindsay - 6'3" 160lb CG out of Baltimore (in his top 6)
UR Chase Ross - 6'4 185lb SG out of Dallas (official visit in September)

Still think the goal is one wing and one forward to round out this class (with one scholarship still open). There's been several players that we've been linked with that don't have offers, I wonder if some of the forwards on that list start getting offers now that we're down to two.

Thanks, I did miss him. I still have never seen us mentioned with him since Shaka took over but we did make the top 9 so I assume that we are still in contact

Mr. Rodgers is having two in-home visits today, one from Tom Izzo and one from Nate Oats.

Per Eric Bossi, the AJ Casey recruitment has been pretty quiet but what he has heard is that DePaul and Marquette are who he is hearing the most.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

DePaul will cheat, so I hope Marquette got a bagman for Shaka

Isn't the bagman practically unnecessary these days?

Depaul lost their Meanstreets connection to Illinois though.  If thats true its down to us 2 that's very good news.

No.  Relatives still need mortgages paid and new rides

Stimulus, rent and mortgage moratoriums and the car shortage have changed that game. Bitcoin payments only accepted nowadays.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

The work is brutal, but the "black tarantula" is not deadly. Living in AZ we have them in our yard and even our house. They are docile and friendly --- I have petted them and picked one up. They are not aggressive and dangerous only to snakes and insects.
Pay for the work is a pittance, unless you are a CEO. CEO of Dole received total compensation of $7M in 2019.
