Final ESPN rankings came out. Mitchell's the only top 100 players. Everyone but Joplin is still a 4 star recruit.

But to truly figure out why it's here, and why it spread through the local AAU & HS scene so quickly, figure out who gains from that rumor that appeared out of whole cloth last week after Shaka's staff was already determined but not yet announced.

There have been a few of those this year.

On that same Texas staff, Chris Ogden left a head coaching position at UT-Arlington to become the "Managing Director" at Texas.

Elsewhere in Texas, Barret Peery left his head coaching job at Portland State to become an assistant at Texas Tech.

Syracuse just offered four-star junior Kyle Filipowski, he told @stockrisers. We last talked his recruitment in March and Iowa, Ohio State, and Marquette are amongst those heavily in the mix.

It's probably simpler than that. I'd bet the assistant gigs paid more in those cases.

Rivals is reporting that Georgetown has become a player in the Patrick Baldwin sweepstakes.  I find the whole thing weird that it has dragged on this long.  If it was UWM, wouldn't you want to build around him?

Yes and no. The question is whether the one and done brings you in future recruits. Winning helps. Excitement helps. Having Ellenson and not making a post season tournament did not help.
