Can you post a link that explains how this works?  There is a lot of confusion.

Is it academic seniors who stay an extra year don't count against the max scholarship limit, or is it those who stay an extra year who have used up their eligibility don't count against the scholarship limit?

Elliott is a senior academically, but not eligibility-wise.
Players don't count against the scholarship limit if they stay on their own team for an extra year. If you transfer to another school, you count against their limit.

Players who have used up their eligibility and decide to use a COVID year, don't count against the scholarship count provided they stay at the school they were at during the 20-21 season.

Thank you.  The bolded piece is the info I was looking for.  So, Elliott counts against the 13 scholarship limit, even if he were to graduate this spring.  Got it.

Was Bates holding a pen and signing his letter of intent? Otherwise probably not news...

Do you have to apply to get the additional year after a medical redshirt?

Could MU interpret that Greg used up his four years of eligibility already? If an application is necessary, they could opt not to apply for a fifth season, which they would ordinarily do, but in this case, it would be an advantage not to, because he would get  a year that wouldn't count toward the scholarship limits.

Or is the fifth year of eligibility after a medical redshirt applied automatically and out of MU's control?

Greg does not have a medical redshirt since he never played in 2018-19.  It was a regular redshirt.

Saw Dwight Buycks and Buzz for his official at the Union and The Al. Said hi to Them at the Al and Air signed a signature to them. We all smiled. Probably did not help but Dwight signed.

We haven't had a new commitment in 3 days. Really starting to question Shaka's work ethic.

Whatever happened to Karim Mane?  Out of curiosity I just looked it up.

After going undrafted in the 2020 NBA draft, Mané signed a two-way contract with the Orlando Magic on November 27, 2020.[9][10] He played 10 games with Orlando and 15 with Lakeland, helping the latter win the G League championship with averages of 5.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 22.3 minutes.[11] On April 13, 2021, he was waived by Orlando.  (bad thing happen when you jerk Wojo around)
