The day DJ got his waiver I asked MU if a waiver had been requested for Jose, the SID specifically stated they had not and would not. Something changed at some point.
Yeah, I don't know. I was told by someone off the record in the program back in June that they were going to attempt to get a him waiver due to the extent of covid in New York City. I never followed up and was surprised it took this long, perhaps they were playing it close to the vest.

Wouldn't be the first time I was lied to, err mislead, so could be. Just seemed a strange thing to not be transparent about. In any case, definitely see the upside of having him eligible in a "free year."

No reason to redshirt when it is a free year for everyone.

Perhaps Illinois just wants to keep losing recent recruiting battles with Big East schools? David Jones, DePaul, Brandon Weston, Seton Hall, TyTy Washington, Creighton. or even non Power 5 schools, Jordan Nesbitt, Memphis.

Charles is a 3 that can do a little bit of everything. Good handles for his size.

He doesn't count. Neither do Hank or Markus or any of the other top recruits Wojo signed. Wojo just lucked into those guys, or Stan got them, or Jupiter just so happened to align with Mars.

Don't let facts get in the way of an alternative narrative. That's the COVID-Truther/NoJo/Trump universe that 4ever operates in.

To be fair, Garcia finished as a 4-star in 247 Composite. He was a 5-star in some services but I think is overall considered a very high 4-star.

Have you guys forgotten already?  Wojo only gets the easy recruits.

Wojo is very good at identifying recruits before their recruiting takes off. I would expect Charles status to blow up and he will end up elsewhere.

+1, but with regard to him being a firm NoJo for years he may end up being right.  I don't like the constant negative propaganda and unabashed glee with recruiting losses however.

Of course Dawson counts. So does Hank, Markus and every other good bad and indifferent player Wojo has signed. So does the fact that the closest he's come to a win in the NCAA tournament was a 19 point ass whupin'.

The point is that 4ever was wrong, and now you've used the recruiting topic to make the same complaint you always do.

Don't just b*tch Lennys.  Add something to the conversation.

He does make a fair point that Wojo has not had any success with the players he has recruited. I hope this season shows that Wojo can coach team ball rather than hero ball. This is his first team with athletic players at every position. For me, this season is more about Wojo than the players.

Sorry for getting off topic as this is the recruiting thread.

You are discussing something completely different than Doc Weenie was.

I of course agree with you. Indeed, there's nothing to disagree with, because all you stated was a fact. I also like that you don't cheer for Wojo's recruiting misses. Happy Thanksgiving, my friend.
