Marquette definitely owns the historical matchup. Warriors would curb stomp the badgies. Since 1999 it's Bucky 11-9 head to head, although it feels like we have more wins. Basically they were trash until Dick Bennett came and saved that damn program.

Bigger picture, we have 17 tourney wins and a Final Four since 1997. Wisconsin has 33 tourney wins and 3 Final Four's. Something inconceivable for us folks who have been around to watch the 70's/80's

I'd argue Stu Jackson saved their program. Stan Van Gundy almost set em back in his only season, then DickB moved them fwd with that Final4 despite a 1920's-era style of play. I was hopeful they'd crater under Gard, but not happening. Bottom line? Better dead, than RED.
