I'm not putting any expectations on the 3 2020 recruits at this point, although I'm very happy to see and read what they've done this year so far.  I think the thing that makes me the most happy is that all 3 share the ball.  Garcia is averaging over 3 assists a game to go with his 29.9 points a game according the Minnesota Basketball Hub.

Justin Lewis played in a tourney this weekend in Pittsburgh.  The Post-Gazette beat reporter ran through his usual coverage on the local teams in participation, but here's the only non-local mention in his article:

"One of the best players in the event was undoubtedly Justin Lewis, a 6-foot-7 forward from Baltimore Polytechnic who is headed to Marquette. Lewis was awfully impressive in an 86-67 victory against Chester, from near Philadelphia. Lewis, ranked the No. 99 senior in the country by Maxpreps.com, had 35 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks."

There were definitely some good players there (including former target Ethan Morton), so this makes me happy and hopeful.

Certainly not wrong, but what an obscure ranking to cite. Lewis is #59 on ESPN and 79 on 24/7 for comparison.

Spring/ Summer performance impacts rankings more then high school ......for many reasons.....competition level.....exposure to the recruiting gurus .....etc. He missed some of the summer period with Mono.

He is a very good prospect .......but not a consensus 5 star.

28 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1.5 blocks. Shot 52-percent from the floor.

Greg Elliott's senior season stats.

Well I'm going with the sites that have him as a 5 star and I'd be a bit surprised if he isn't named a McDs AA.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I guess 6-11 vs 6-3 is the difference.

That's insane.  Who gets six assists and seven blocks?  We have a bona fide unicorn coming our way.

For those that keep up with former MU coaches.

Had we offered or are you pulling a Herman and just posting random stuff not related to MUBB?

Says the poster who apparently posts about the quantity of Wisconsin's AP votes or former players who left etc....

Yes, because every post in this 972 page thread is about recruiting.

Feel free to ignore a recruiting related post referencing Marquette's most recent coach, in the recruiting thread. Otherwise, too bad.

Maybe start your own thread about who our former coaches are recruiting.  This thread is about who MU is recruiting and your posting about Buzz is only going to lead to another Buzz versus Wojo tangent that we totally do not need in this thread.

Did so on the ranking thread, a statement about the votes teams with worse records than us are receiving is relevant. A post about a player we are not recruiting that committed to a school a former coach from 6yrs ago is at us not. Would you like to add every commit Crean gets as well down at Georgia? It's about as relevant.

Why is this here? We never offered, we never tried to offer. I could care less who buzz is recruiting in the Marquette Recruiting Thread, which shockingly, is about marquette recruiting (and other sh*tposting that it devolves into, but the main purpose is to talk solely of Marquette's recruiting efforts).

Yeah hoops, I'm not gonna rag on ya but lets not do that, at least here.  I think it would be a decent new comparison thread talking about the guys Crean or Buzz is currently getting vs. the guys Wojo is getting.  Thanks in advance.  :)

You shouldn't be surprised by that.
I mean, there is a chance. There have been a few guys ranked around where he is that have made it in recent years, but I would not count on it.

I would sign a petition to give Pa Glow moderation rights over this specific thread.  IMO it's a real asset to the board.

Nah I'm not interested in doing a coaching comparison thread. It was a  simple enough single post of a top 35 player committing to a former MU coach today. Hence the recruiting and MU connections. That's more on topic than much of this 972 page thread. Seemed simple enough, timely, today, and matter of fact enough. I'm probably in a small number of people who actually post about recruiting related to MU in the recruiting thread.

Not every poster here has an irrational fear of abandonment. Not every poster here has irrational levels of grudge holding dislike for some former players, coaches, or opposing teams. Buzz, Crean, KO, players who left etc...

When does the apparent pain for those few posters end? When does that pain turn to acceptance and/or indifference? (replying and replying in that tone means those people care) Carrying that around only hurts those that carry it. That's unfortunate.
