I have watched games for every team in the Big East several times this year. One of the consistent issues in our league is that the teams have a lot of guys who are good basketball players but the Power 5 football school teams tend( with some exceptions) to have more taller athletic longer players .  We have decent quality coaches in our league and tend to do well when our rosters are older  so the physical differences can be overcame under the right circumstances. Last nights Creighton Oklahoma game was a great example.  The coaching and skills can get our league a win or two in the tournament but that is about as far as the rosters for most teams can go.

All that said, the thing that encourages me the most about MU recruiting is that we have seen a  trend toward over the last three classes  toward taller long athletic kids.  In addition , with this class the skills of the recruits appear to the be readily transferable to college play.

Looking forward to see what happens in the spring signing season and what  traditional transfers/grad transfers materialize.  Mane would clearly fit with the trend of what we have been recruiting.

I still think they will try and add another true big who can defend and rebound to back up Theo.

Grad preferably........Certainly Garcia can play there and has been mentioned he will be a tough matchup for any big guy trying to guard him........just not sure how he would defend more physical centers......might put fouls on him in a hurry.

Three scholarships available.  Freshman big, transfer big, and Mane, in a perfect world.

Seems like Micawber Etienne is an ideal replacement for Theo as the next 5.

Yes, all the more reason why we need 10 or 15 years to fully evaluate Wojo.

Why can’t we just have a discussion about Marquette basketball without people trying to be snarky and funny.  Really is a big turn off.

Will be interesting to see how Wojo, Stan and Killings top off this class.  Has the makings of being one of the best all time and lay the ground work for some good things in the future.

Two more bigs?  Please no.  Especially if they are like the kind we have now that cannot score outside of two feet.  This isn't how the game is being played these days.  I think we need more shooters!

Need a couple of bangers in the big east.

Marquette ranks the last 4 seasons in 3 point shooting and overall offensive efficiency
2016/17 1st/8th
2017/18 1st/12th
2018/19 12th/32
2019/20 in progress.....currently 3rd/33

Lots of schools would love to have the shooters we have......everybody has a role to play.....

People here have mentioned Kendall Brown but there’s no reason to believe he is considering it. The Scoop reasoning is, “He’s very good.” Which he is. But there’s usually more than just that when it comes to reclassifying.

Kendall Brown
DaRon Holmes
Mac Etienne

Those are the top 3 I'd like to see in 2021. Probably need a PG there to supplement Symir.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I watched the recording of Dawson's last game and wow am I impressed.  He started the game by drilling four straight 3s with a guy right on him and I think finished with seven for the game.  Looked smooth and crafty around the rim and has bursts of speed.  Also brings the ball up the court a lot for his team (point center?) and has a terrific handle.  Could probably add some strength but otherwise he looks like a tremendous add.

My ideal is Mane, a transfer big, and best available (Jalen Terry, Josh Gray) freshman. Really like a transfer big that would sit out. Practice partner for Theo and replacement once he leaves. And if he gets immediate eligibility, great.

If Terry recommitted because of PG competition in his class I doubt he's gonna choose us and play along side Mane and Symir. Not to mention Koby and Elliott are still around next year and the following.

McEwen has one more year.
