Watts and Hoggard might not be thrilled about that.

That said, I hope that the inroads our staff has made will go a long way to the recruitment and signing of Mane.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

That works both ways.  We have backcourt guys that might not be so happy, so I don't think there is an advantage one way or the other.

Go out and get the best guys and let the chips fall where they may.

Dang.  I thought about going to this game too since it was a girls/boys double-header and I could kill two "cheer on my students" birds with one stone.  Oh well.

Kendall Brown talks a little about his Marquette visit and other schools recruiting him.

https://247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Kendall-Brown-Minnesota-Kansas-Marquette-Illinois-Maryland-Arkansas-140091772/

What's the take on Brown? Likely to be a one and done? Looks like he was originally from MN and played AAU with Dawson? Are they buddies?

In order...

Has had an official here, I feel we're in good position.

Hard to say right now, probably (like Garcia) one of those guys who's on the fringe of being able to go right away.

Yes, and both he and Dawson interacted positively during their official visits.

Definitely seems so.

Brown is another marquee, class-defining player. He would be a massive get, and landing Garcia could really help that. They do seem to have a good relationship. That said, any top-20 kid will be tough to reel in. If Garcia has success while also looking likely to be here for the 2021-22 season, it could really help our chances. Another thought...Brown might be someone who's eligible to reclassify to 2020. If he ends up doing that, it would be great to be one of the front-runners early on. Jay Bee might be able to better speak to that since, as you mentioned, Brown is originally from his neck of the woods.

Brown's brother plays at UWM.

Assuming he signs in November he will be making his decision before anyone will know if Garcia has success........Obviously if he waits until Spring of 2021 then those things certainly could factor in.

During Kendall Brown's campus visit, he tweeted a picture of himself in a MU jersey.  The first two to respond were Dawson Garcia and Theo John.

That has to play to MU's advantage at least as much as his familiarity with Dawson Garcia.  Especially if he has one-and-done aspirations, why not go somewhere near (or with) your brother?  Courtney Brown Jr. could be the new Wally!

Yeah, and when his bro leaves, we'll just give Courtney one of the track kids' scholarships, hey?

Thanks! I'm excited about Garcia, but if we can start stringing together classes of that kind of talent I think it would really take us to the next level even if Wojo never really becomes an above average coach.
