Agree on transitive theory of recruiting. But I think Chatouney is the one who got us in the door. Montreal is a tough place to recruit,  you have to know the right people.

Counter point. If he wants to go to school for a year or two or get a degree, he should do that. What he does should be up to him.

The salary discrepancy between being a lottery pick and being drafted at the end of the first round is dramatic.  Just because he's projected to be drafted doesn't make it a good decision even if he is just looking at it as a money proposition (not saying he is).  Even as the last lottery pick he stands to out earn his entire rookie contract as the 30th pick in the first two years.  As the 4th pick he'd out earn it in year one.
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.

Per Corey Evans, Marquette on hand for Karim Mane this morning. He also noted that Nate Oats, Buzz Williams, Mark Turgeon, as well as staff members from Memphis & DePaul are on hand at the National Prep Showcase.

Two MU assistants.

Shaky play yesterday in front of all the NBA scouts. If he was considered borderline to begin with, this probably helps college vs pro decision.

The difference between any first-round pick (even a late one), and a second-rounder is even more dramatic.

Mane sounds like a serious pipedream  Is there ANY reason to think we would have ANY kind of advantage or track to get him?

Very much so.

Agree. Don't waste our resources on recruiting him.

Don't read TOO much into NBA scouts being there. They will go watch draftable players whoever they can.

So is he pro ready or college bound after you saw him twice the last few days?  It is a big jump from High School to the pros.
