I was actually pretty excited to hear the IU assistant asked him tonight when he plans on announcing so they can get Archie in front of him one last time.

Makes me think IU is nervous about the MU visit.

I don't even like the fact that IU met with him this week at all...I was hoping they wouldn't. I also don't like that he said he will announce/sign by the 20th. Now obviously that means it could be earlier, but if he waits until the 20th, that gives IU more time to meet with him again. Don't want that. I'm certain the MU staff pushed hard for this particular weekend because it's a dead period starting the 11th(day after his visit), it runs through the 14th. What we NEED to see, is an announcement as soon after the MU visit as possible, like the day the signing period starts(13th). I'm betting the thinking by the staff was that by doing it this weekend, that doesn't give the IU staff time to go see him again...UNLESS he waits until after the dead period to announce. I think if he does that, it may not bode well for MU. the sooner after the visit, the better.

My thoughts exactly.  This same scenario just played out between us and RJ Davis: he came for his official and we sent a full staff in-house visit the next week.  As we saw, he committed to UNC right after his official there.

If IU felt great about their chances prior to his MU official, why the need for an immediate follow-up....at a goddamn Chili's no less.  Plus their uncertainty of not knowing when he plans on announcing.  I think that's great news.  Let's hope he gets plenty of non-infant-daughter love from fans and students on his visit this weekend.

Paper reported that UNC signed someone today. Name I didn't recognize. May affect the situation.

I don't know how the staff feels about their chances. But he seemed pretty giddy when he was talking about Indiana. Seemed to perk up when talking about them.

For what it's worth, Archie does this with every recruit. It's a Miller/Calipari thing.

Do NOT want him meeting with Archie again. Announce as soon as possible after the visit(during the dead period)..if it drags on..NOT good for MU imo.

I think you are hearing what you want to hear. He's playing it close to the vest. Hell, without knowing anything about his recruitment Ibwould have guessed he was a MN lean with how he talked about them.

Yeah, reading the body language and voice inflections of a 18 year old is something I have no interest in.  Wojo is good at this and knows what to do.  If it doesn't work, we move on.

Agreed, all this focus on reading into tweets and studying interviews is pointless. The real money is in the crystal balls.

They received a commitment from Puff Johnson. A shooting guard.

If things don't work out for RJ possible we may get him on the rebound.

I believe he's announcing on November 20. The decision will have been made by then so I believe that's why JB responded as he did. If I'm wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected.
