Dies anyone under the age of 60 play pickle ball?
The Dawsons were also wildly impressed by the weekly square dances and pinochle club.

Dawson's dad raved about the tradition of Indiana, and the history of Assembly hall. Seemed most impressed by the living quarters..

And the living quarters, oh my goodness, you want to talk about embarrassment of riches. That was incredible with the basketball court, pickle ball court, swimming pool with the jumbotron, the sauna. That was impressive.

This is one area I fear MU lags behind on...it's sad because they had the chance to have the best dorms in the country all paid for.  >:(

Where did you get this notion that MU would have the chance for the best dorms in the country...let alone paid for?  When I took my daughter to visit UCSB with the dorm having an outside swimming pool, hearing the ocean waves, etc....I just cannot quite buy into the claim.

Goal is National Championship

Maybe it's my paranoia...but for some reason, my instincts are telling me this isn't going to end well for MU. It sounds like to me that IU overwhelmed them in a good way. It feels like all we have to hope for and cling to is that the commitment and dedication and loyalty the staff has showed him is enough. That might not do it.

Well, if that's the deal then that's the deal.  MU doesn't have state supported goodies like many other schools.  It is one of the many reasons why I think NIL will be a huge negative for MU.

IU can show a half court basketball court in their dorm. MU can show 24 hour access to the Al and home games in the Fiserv.

Pickle ball pretty big pout here for Middle Agers

This is exactly the kind of "insider" info I was asking about. Where did you hear what his dad said? Did you read it somewhere or is this the whisperings of some IU assistant or what?

I'm not sure that can match the tradition of Assembly Hall

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Dawson scheduling an official visit with us could mean IU has done enough to catch or even pass us.

Or it could mean that Dawson wants to announce on campus.

The only thing we know it means is that he hasn't committed to IU yet.

While it's not a guarantee, all things being equal, I'd rather have the last visit than the second to last visit.

I'm certain you will remember that, If MU doesn't get Dawson.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Didn't we JUST have a top recruit spurn us and commit to/after his final visit?  How this can be perceived as anything but a good thing is beyond me.  Yeah yeah I get "well if he really loved MU he'd just announce now", but if he was truly all-in on IU he wouldn't waste his time.  Love getting the last crack at him, where Wojo has shown he's really solid.

The people I know that actually know anything, have told me that him and his parents were "blown away" on their visit to IU.

I'm STUNNED your 'insiders' relayed them being "blown away".  Stunned I tell you.

I am not sure why a player would turn own an official visit. The only reason for a recruit to rush a commitment is when the school is down to its last scholarship with more than one option to fill it.

He would turn down an official visit if he didn't want to go...which is a good thing for us that he is coming. If you were offered an all expense paid trip to Grand Rapids Michigan (Halloween weekend) to sit in a board room for a full weekend and listen to a sales pitch for a job the you didn't want...would you take it?

The place is a dump. Indiana hasn't won the NCAAs in over three decades. The B1G hasn't won the NCAA this century. They may be selling that but it is pretty flimsy.

Archie, the new facilities, his buddies, basketball culture in Indiana, negative recruiting will be bigger factors. More so, Badger fans are less delusional about their program's place in history. What recruit in 2019, especially one from MN, makes his decision based on clown pants and the Mop Lady?

Stretchdeltsig

Perhaps we should invite Big Fish back to share his reasons for transferring out of IU to play at Marquette.

MSU won the title in 2000. Although that's was right at the beginning of this century.....it is still considered this century.

What recruit gives a damn If a conference won a title recently? and honestly let's not pretend the big 10 isn't perceived as a top conference

The only thing that can perceived as a good thing amongst all this useless speculation is that the guy signs a letter of commitment. Everything else is guessing
