I saw on twitter that he listed Marquette as a "key school" whatever that means. Anything in there besides timeline for narrowing his list?

The article was from an IU site so it had quotes about his relationship with them

Then they had this
Garcia discussed the three schools to whom he already has taken official visits.

On Marquette: "It's just the amount of time they've spent building a relationship with me and the priority they've made me in their recruiting process."

On Texas: "I learned that they've had guys go to the league, guys like Jaxson Hayes. They've had two one-and-dones the past two years, and coach (Shaka) Smart obviously is a great coach."

On Baylor: "It's kind of the same thing. I liked the campus a lot. Scott Drew is a good coach, obviously. They lost a couple key players but still had a pretty good year last year.

Found this little blurb today
* "Loyalty is going to be very important to him," a source told Inside Carolina in regards to R.J. Davis. Two schools the source mentioned that have been recruiting Davis with vigor for some time - Marquette and Pittsburgh. Davis is scheduled to make an unofficial visit to Pitt in early August.

Thanks Mark!!  Always appreciate your insights here.

Thanks Mark.  Very interesting tidbit.

Maybe it's recency/confirmation bias, but I'm feeling much more bullish about this class than a month ago

I have been following RJ locally for some time and have always thought he was skilled. One of the considerations many observers were concerned about with respect to RJ was his his size. MU stepped up on the recruitment earlier than others so that loyalty is there. Of course now he is blowing up and the Blue Bloods have showed up . Hopefully he remembers us being there earlier. Glad MU was able to get RJ out for the unofficial . Our big chance will be if Young Mr Davis perceives the Blood Bloods are stringing him along as they frequently do.

I'm just glad that we are signing more athletic players.

Agree 100%.  The key is to sign dominant players.

A shot in the dark as to who Marquette seems to be most involved with on July 27th, 2019 and not necessarily an educated opinion.  Numbers could be way out of reality.

1  Dawson Garcia
2. RJ Davis
3. Nimari Burnett
4. Osasere Ighodaro
5. Coleman Hawkins
6. Myles Stute
7. Gabe Madsen

Darlinstone Dubar did well this past year at Athens prep and was a big factor in his Club teams run to the UAA final. He received offers from Seton Hall and Wichita State in recent months, in addition to those that came last year but no announcements on finalists etc. Is 6-7 now and Would be a solid complimentary player to Justin. My only concern is that he may have gotten lost in the shuffle between Carawell and Nelson leaving.

I thought that this comment from Burnett's dad was interesting: "Nimari likes to get up and down the floor," said Mr. Burnett. "He's a fast-paced guard.  The half-court systems really don't even fit Nimari that much.  So, I think just basically a fast-paced system."

The biggest names on his list, Louisville, Michigan and AZ, are all more turtle than hare.  Although I'm sure Miller is giving him the "we're really going to turn our guards loose when you get here....this time I'm serious.... I promise" speech.  Works every time.
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.

I'll be curious to see what kind of offense Michigan will run.  I think they're the leaders at the moment
