Sept 10 in Phoenix area, Sept 11 day in San Fran/Oakland Area, Sept 11 night + today back in Phoenix area.  Life of an assistant coach is tough. If Nico is the only one in the Phx area we are recruiting, Stan must still feel like we are in the game.

Would be nice to see the Wojo/Nico standard visit photoshoot. Doesn't seem like Wojo has been all-in on Nico like he has others (Grimes/Ellenson/Tillman) or it's all being kept very quiet.

Three deep for Mr. Lewis. Intriguing.

I need Nico Mannion news like I need Miller Lites.

We need to introduce the 24hr news cycle to college bball recruiting.

Team USA just announced the prospects who are being invited to its October minicamp. A few MU targets got the nod:

2019: Rocket Watts
2020: Isaiah Jackson, Johnny Juzang, Justin Lewis, Caleb Love, Ethan Morton
2021: Pat Baldwin Jr, Michael Foster

The most interesting one to me is Justin Lewis. We were just three deep for him in Baltimore. He's not ranked that highly at the moment (#140 in 247 Composite) but maybe this means he is on the rise.

Honestly, you could probably make a designated recruiting tv station and probably make some money off of it. Hmmmm...

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Honestly, no news is good news with Mannion at this point. If he commits before his visit, it will be to Arizona.

I am very bullish on Justin Lewis, a hard working interior type player.  He has a lot of interest from all the high major conferences. Would be great if we could land Justin and James Bishop and have that Baltimore pipeline.

Exactly, I think Nico will wait to see what Arizona does in the early signiing period.  The bigger issue is if Bishop likes his visit and commits, then do you
over recruit hoping somebody leaves.  I hope not.

Maybe an internet channel, but I doubt you'd get enough subscribers to warrant cable, unless you maybe included football, but then it'd be a 23.5/7 football channel with a daily half hour for basketball.

I don't think Bishop will be allowed to commit until Mannion makes his decision.

Let's see if both actually show up for their official. Coaching staff will cross the commitment bridge when they get to it.

Mannion has consistently said that he would be making his decision early next year. However, Villanova and Duke made part of the decision for him, which worked out in our favor. We still have a big mountain to climb though.

I look at Bishops case as very similar to that of Hasahn French. In that there are a bunch of schools equally well positioned and French went with the opportunity that he felt he could make an early impact. In that case he did well by choosing SLU and had a very good freshman season.

The sales pitch to Bishop is likely as a combo guard and to Mannion clearly is as a point guard .  The staff will see which way the wind is blowing and apply their efforts accordingly after the visits are completed.

Nice short article / interview of Akanno. His mother is from Nigeria and seems he became good friends with Ike and part of what made him decide. Our players are our best recruiters, makes me wonder even more what happened with Grimes.

I think we would sign 3 players. We have transfers every year. There always is going to be someone unhappy with their playing time.

Herman could we please only use the recruiting thread to post Marquette related recruiting information?

If you want to start a separate thread on Crean fine but none us are looking for Georgia info here.
