I thought we established that anything more than one state line was not local.  The Detroit trio come down through the UP to stay 'local', otherwise MU would be too far from home

What if they take the ferry?

Back to real recruiting, if you look at the make-up of this squad.  3 from Wisky, 3 from Detroit and 2 from Minny.  Stan brought 2 kids with him and maybe a third in
McEwen.  The two transfers saw opportunities that are interesting but 1 from Chicago.  So 9 are within real driving distance and know more about MU.  Look at Wojo's
offers, all over the country.  I understand if MU was a tourny team and others saw that, but not sure if Wojo or MU is a name brand yet, next 2 years are very important,
but I will be really impressed with Wojo's recruiting when he signs a 4 or 5 star out of the area.  2020 will be big,  4 solid players leaving, big difference for out of town
kids to see playing team right away, thoughts?  I think he lost his top 3 for 2019 already.  But time to re-group.  Really like a big more than a guard but it seems MU
is not looking at any yet.

Mannion is target #1 for 2019.

There is a connection with him, Howard and Bailey has to be the ones to bring him to MU.  AZ boy.  If he visits that would be a start.  Need a visit first to get excited
about out of town players.

Would love to see us to look at chicago

Nimari Burnett is from Chicago. Won a state championship with Morgan Park and had 20pts in the game before moving to CA.

Wojo only has one recruited player on the roster who went to high school below the 40th parallel.

Can we use the 38th parallel, it's more familiar to most.  Then we can call it the Korean theory of basketball recruiting.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Will Dennis Rodman be added to the staff?

Hadn't seen it confirmed anywhere before but Bossi says we have reached out to Michael Foster since he decommitted from Arizona State. He's the #3 player in the class of 2021 and is from Milwaukee.

Also said we had assistants watching the NY2LA summer jam, no surprise given the location. Most likely watching Ethan Mortan and Lance Ware.

I think it's good in that we won't have to worry about wasting our resources on his recruitment for the next 12 months.

I think he's referring to the fact that Mannion will commit somewhere sooner (likely fall 2018) rather than later (sometime in 2019), saving us a year of recruiting expenses.  As far as I know, MU's certainly still an option.

I would say its better than worse. We've missed on all our top targets for 2019 already so it gives us another big fish to go after. I have no idea where we stand with him, it will definitely be an uphill battle. We have the family connection with the Baileyes but he has every blue blood sniffing around him.

Interesting wrinkle in Mannion's reclassification. 247 said that they are moving him from #19 in the 2020 class to #11 in the 2019 class. In the past, 247 has always moved players down in the rankings when they reclassify up. I think the thought process being that they are playing with players a year more developed physically. This is the first time that I've seen a player move up in the rankings after reclassifying up. I wonder if that's a reflection of the quality of the 2020 class compared to the 2019 class.
