Is that bad for us?

Mannion isn't coming to MU.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Got something to share or just assuming we can't beat out the others in the top 9? I'm certainly not expecting to land Mannion, but I've heard nothing so far to suggest that we've already been eliminated.

Personally no. I think we'll end up with one of our target 4 stars. It might not be a top 50 guy like we were hoping but someone quality. The last spot I think gets filled in the transfer market. Which would make sense giving how limited available minutes will be next season but how wide open they will be after Sammy, Markus, Morrow, and Anim graduate.

Interesting wrinkle in Mannion's reclassification. 247 said that they are moving him from #19 in the 2020 class to #11 in the 2019 class. In the past, 247 has always moved players down in the rankings when they reclassify up. I think the thought process being that they are playing with players a year more developed physically. This is the first time that I've seen a player move up in the rankings after reclassifying up. I wonder if that's a reflection of the quality of the 2020 class compared to the 2019 class.

Could be timing. He was ranked #19 in 2020 on a certain date in time. On a DIFFERENT date in time, he was ranked #11 in 2019. The question would be, "what would you rank him in 2020 today?"
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

MU fishing in all the right places. The coaching staff will land a couple. I like the prospects we are going after.

How so?  Is it still a good fishing spot even if the fish aren't biting?

I watched Phenom University this evening and they are very special. Jalen Johnson and Patrick Baldwin Jr. are the real deal. Highlight of the evening was Johnson taking it in the lane and posterizing the defender.  I was really impressed with how quick Sibley is & Polk looks like a nice player as well, but needs to put on a little weight. This team could win the 17U division.

I also watched Mike Foster and I can see why he is be a top 10 recruit.

Thinking I might head out to watch this tomorrow. Just to make sure I’m I the right place, Are Baldwin and Johnson both on Phenom U’s 16U team? I don’t see Phenom U on the 17U bracket but see their 16U team plays at noon at Homestead.

Also, who does Foster play for? Are there any other MU targets to try to see?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Stan Johnson was in Pomona, California at the Elite 100 last night.  Mannion and Jalen Gaffney are among the invitees and this continues this weekend.  I'd expect Stan and Wojo to take the games in the weekend.  Mannion and Gaffney play against each other in one game this weekend.

I believe Coach Killings is or was in Ledera Ranch in Orange County watching the Adidas Summer Championships and among the players playing is Dahmir Bishop.

Ledara Ranch and Pomona are only 45-50 minutes apart if traffic is OK, so should be able to watch these 3 and others this weekend.

Gaffney's been the point guard I was hoping the staff would focus on since the spring since I felt Carton, Mannion and Watts would be tough to land.  Really, really like Gaffney.

Johnson, Baldwin, Beekman, Sibley and Polk all play for Phenom 16U. Foster plays for Kevon Looney Elite. Two of the other big programs are Meanstreets (alumni include Rose, Patrick Beverly, Anthony Davis, Eric Gordon, etc.)   and Mac Irvin Fire(alumni include Okafor. Jabari Parker, Tim Hardaway Jr. etc.)

Mac Irvin Fire 17U have a couple of 5 start recruits and are a must see. Quad City has DJ Carton. Grassroots Sizzle has Jalen Suggs (must see as well). Honestly I would just structure your schedule around Phenom, Jalen Suggs, Mac Irvin & Meanstreets (in that order).

I'll probably head there tomorrow for championship Sunday. Admission was $15.

Thanks much for all the info.

Question about the Suggs/Danija team. I can’t find a Grassruits Sizzle team on the bracket. Any idea what they would be labeled as on the brackets?

Thanks again for the help.

Just watched Phenom U. Johnson didn’t have a great game and was on the bench for a decent chunk of the game. Baldwin was clearly the best player in this game, very in contrail if what he was doing.
