Agreed. This feels like one of those Buzz classes where we went big game hunting early, were on a bunch of top-40 guys' lists, and may come up short.

No, I think he'll at least be a D-1 assistant at his next job.

Well, it seem like the decision of Minutes has become a bit more easy.

Well I guess if it's good news not to make the final 4 on your top priority it must be GREAT news to not make the final 8 on your #2!

This is a brilliant post.

Personal opinion, I think he pursues Mannion, Bishop, and Gaffney. If we miss on all three, probably look to the transfer market. Find someone who can sit out while Markus, Elliott, and McEwen run the backcourt, then come in with a year of acclimation.

I don't think they're anti-JUCO, but I do think meeting eligibility will be harder if that's the route they pursue.

GoldenWarrior11

Definitely disappointing, but not surprising. The reality is that there are not a ton of minutes available for 19-20 at the moment. Top players want to have guaranteed playing time.

Things will work out. With the anticipated season we will have, the ball will get moving sooner rather than later.

Wojo can't recruit. Fire him yesterday. Hiroshima. We're already St. Louie U.

Yeah, right.  We wish we were St. Louis.

Damn, how does the teal thing work?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Dahmir Bishop, a class of 2019 SG playing for K-Low Elite (PA), just picked up an offer from Marquette.

No it's not good news but i'm old enough to remember when Crean lost our #1 target Bobby Frasor and we had to settle for Dominic James. Ditto for Buzz with DJO........

Every recruiting season isn't going to be the same.........I'm not worried about Wojo/staff abilities to evaluate talent and recruit good players.

Harder to recruit when you don't have playing time to sell but we will get somebody who can play and wants to be here.

If Wojo lands both James & Dahmir, I'm totally calling them the Arc Bishops.

Probably means nothing, but Watts deleted his tweet about his top-8 from last night.

Dahmir plays for Imhotep, home to the much discussed DJ Newbill for a year.

ChitownSpaceForRent

Dahmir should feel right at home in Milwaukee, eh?

And the main assistant after Dahmir is probably Killings.

Here is the challenge to landing an elite PG for the 2019 class.    More than NCAA success.       Markus Howard, Greg Elliot, Koby McEwen.    We would all love to have an elite PG for 2019.   Convince one to come in and share time.     Good luck.

Agree.  Tough sell.  Wojo has greatly exceeded my expectations on the recruiting trail.  He's got a really good collection of young talent in the program.  McEwen will be a very good player for MU and will have two years of eligibility starting 2019-2020.  Hard to get a player at PG to come in knowing there is a proven, 4th year guy at your position with two years of eligibility left.

Wow.

Dwayne Killings did coach at Temple. He's got Philly contacts. Marquette has offered a few Philly kids since DK has been hired.

So, yes, I do think there is a Dahmir, Killings connection.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

Per Corey Evans, Marquette has offered 2020 6-3 PG Zeb Jackson from Ohio.

Rivals ranks him 88th.
