If there were going to be a transfer, don't you think we would have heard by now?  I guess anything is possible...

Not exactly the same thing, but Wally left the program a week or so after last year's banquet.

I'm not sure about this...you would like to think so, but look at how many kids throuought the country are still announcing they are transferring, seems there's at least a couple every day. It could also be a situation where MU/Wojo knows it's going to happen, but they won't announce anything until they know the kid is/will be in good academic standing before he leaves.

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

Not sure how much Stan was involved though. I mean he's been here for awhile now.

Do player's younger siblings get to come for dinner?  That would be nice if the allowed that.

Well brefore the banquet.  Mama and Papa Ellenson did not come.  Grandpa came.  Strange dynamics.

Yeah I was going by report dates. Obviously, as you said, he could have left prior to the banquet but I just couldn't remember that far back.

Moral of the story, still a lot of movement out there.

Tums Festival

Quote from: MarkMiller on April 11, 2017, 01:39:36 PM
Name: Joey Hauser

School: Stevens Point

Club Program:
Iowa Barnstormers

Class: 2018

Position: F

Height: 6-8

Weight: 210

WisSports.net Ranking: No. 1 in 2018 class

Strengths: Size, versatility, skill, poise, unselfishness, passing, ball handling, rebounding, shooting

Weaknesses: Shot blocking

Notes: Key player on Stevens Point teams that have won the last three WIAA Division 1 state titles ... First-team all-state selection by the Association Press and Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association following junior season ... Older brother, Sam, just completed freshman season at Marquette ... Father, Dave, was an outstanding player at Oshkosh West and Minnesota-Duluth ... Ranked as a five-star recruit by Scout.com ... Can score from the perimeter and with his back to the basket on the low blocks ... Excellent ball handler and passer ... Averaged 23.6 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 2016-17.

Scholarship Offers: Bradley, Iowa, Iowa State, Marquette, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northern Iowa, Northwestern, Purdue, Virginia, Wisconsin

National Ranking in 2018 Class: No. 17 by Scout; No. 31 by ESPN; No. 32 by 247 Sports; No. 37 by Rivals

In His Own Words: "I haven't cut down my list, but Iowa, Marquette, Michigan State, Virginia and Wisconsin are recruiting me the hardest. I'm hoping that I'll make a decision after the AAU season. If I feel like I know where I want to go before then, then I will decide earlier."

Bottom Line: Without a doubt the prize recruit in Wisconsin in a very talented 2018 class, Hauser follows in the footsteps of recent state high-school standouts Vander Blue of Madison Memorial, Sam Dekker of Sheboygan Lutheran, Kevon Looney of Milwaukee Hamilton, Diamond Stone of Dominican and Henry Ellenson of Rice Lake as a top 50 player nationally in the 247 Sports composite rankings. Some believe Hauser will join his older brother, Sam, at Marquette, but do not discount Michigan State and Wisconsin, which also remain strong in the chase for the versatile forward.

Great stuff, thanks Mark!

Bad info. Marquette not pursuing McKinley Wright.

If by "bad" you mean "true" :)

Your comment is far more helpful than mine, but in certain situations - including this one - there can be schools who contact a recruit the day of his release, but are not going to, or are unlikely to, pursue.

Each for a slightly different reason, but if you're a Minnesota, I4 or MU, there are reasons it makes sense to contact the recruit and at least talk / explain where things are at.

Not to try to be a wordsmith here JB, but are you and MM agreeing that we're not actively recruiting Wright at this time? H*ll, I've talked to Wojo and certainly aren't being recruited!

Of course I chalk that up to my lack of eligibility and not the fact that I'm almost 56 and never could play basketball!

Updated top 150 from Rivals.  Jamal Cain comes in at #76.  He is the only MU commit on the list.

Those jerseys are awesome.  Not sure if they just adjusted the tint for this picture, but hope they wear these next year!

Love this color gold, and agree to disagree with those that think that it's too much like ND. Honestly, I love our whole set of jerseys. Least favorite is the white because it's just somewhat plain on television, where the finer details really stand out. Baby blues are significantly better than their predecessors, and not just because we can win in them.

Marquette came and pulled three of the top 5 kids in Detroit out of the city. Wojo and his staff stayed posted in the city. Paid off.
