A lot of season to be excited for still this year.  But we might be special next year.

+1  We can surprise people this year!

I keep remembering that Big Daddy is hearing that Cain is a program changer and I read an article on Cain that described him as a "sharp shooter" who can finish at the rim...  Hoping!

I remember reading that he came into high school as a three point specialist. Since then he has worked on his ball control and driving ability. Now he's a well rounded scorer.

Sounds like Wojo is building a hockey team where we will have 13 talented players that will all see playing time in waves of substitutions.

I still think the plan should be a grad transfer, a freshman like Elliott, and then two redshirts, likely Eke and Elliott. That gives us 11 active players. Would think we'd use a 10 man rotation with 1 player (Anim?) playing as the emergency backup.

If we get a grad transfer and Elliott I would redshirt both Elliott and Eke.
Watching the Creighton freshmen center has changed my mind about redshirting. The guy is likely gone after one year. They should of let him play last year, then they would of got two years out of him.

I think you found the one example out of millions where this would be true.

He was too small last season and they had a senior center. Patton would have been a backup. Might have made a difference....or might have injured himself. Who knows?

I also don't think anyone in or outside of Creighton saw his emergence coming. Not a highly ranked recruit. Physical specimen, no doubt, but needed some refining. Clearly used his redshirt year well.

I know they had high hopes for him, but agreed that no one expected this. The kid is playing like a one-and-done this year. He'd almost certainly be a first-rounder even in this draft, and possibly even a lottery pick.

Some saw it coming. He was ranked as highly as #25 by some services.

Ike Eke is doing very well again this season against a very high level of competition. I look for him to make meaningful contributions when he gets to MU.

If Wojo is building a hockey team, then he needs to find a goalIE to replace fischer, according to some here.

Really hoping for a 2018-2019 roster that looks something along the lines of:

PG: Howard/recruit (hopefully Ramey)
SG: Cheatham/Cain/Bailey
SF: Hauser/Anim/recruit
PF: Hauser/John
C: Froling/Heldt/Eke

That is a team with experience, depth, skill, size, and shooting ability.  The kind of roster that can compete for a BE title and make a run in the NCAA Tournament.

I really dont think bailey would be playing SG but that looks right if they get ramey and another recruit at SF

It seems Jarvis Thomas is interested in MU,  has anybody seen him play.  How does compare to Joey Hauser?   A little logjam of recruits as they do need a guard.
They would have to think Bailey will play guard or if they get Elliot there will be no room for all the potential recruits, have only 3 left then.  2 might be taken?

I can't see a roster with those five players at the 4 and 5 getting past midseason without a transfer.  A player or two not getting significant minutes would have too many other good options.

I also think that its more likely that Theo John would be a five than Eke.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

That continues to be a good problem to have.  If a dude transfers because he can't get off the bench, oh well.
