According to Pete Gillen, Sam plays the 1 or the 2!

Yeah, but did you know that Luke is a fifth year senior?

Wojo was an All-State soccer player in high school...

Switched to basketball so he could use his hands to floor slap.

Not sure about starting right away but sure would have a chance to play early.

I would think jr Howard and Sr Cheatham will be the starting backcourt.....but lots can change in 2 years

Cheatham really needs to play on the wing.  In Wojo's offense it really does not matter though.

Can you give an assessment of Suggs? Where do you think he shakes down from a rankings perspective?

He sets my home state up for back-to-back seasons with a top 10 national recruit (Matthew Hurt in 2019). Instincts, how he moves, how he sees... this is special.

PG who could play off, could get to be 6'5", 6'6". Can score at all levels, would like to see the jumper continue to progress... nifty with the dribble and pass... as he gets stronger and if he can become a sniper from deep, forget about it. Absolutely elite potential. Will be curious to see what he does for travel ball next year.

Has already played a couple of years of varsity HS bball, although he's just a frosh. He's got attributes that few do.

Word on Hurter? Blue blood?

Michael Hurt, Matthew's bro, is riding the bench for the Gophers this year. If past history is any indication, MU will wind up with both.

Yeah, depends what Matthew wants to do. He will be welcomed by thd blue bloods should he so choose.

Don't know what the plans are for next year's D1 Minnesota 17U team, but MU targets Jarvis Thomas, Matthew Hurt & Race Thompson playing together would be quite fun...

Are you sure about this? He left Indiana losing the second half of his freshmen year and sat out the first half of his sophomore year.
Really was a waste to have him play the second semester of his sophomore year for a team that had no chance. He could of been a fifth year senior on next year's team.

Great article. The pieces are coming together.  Exciting times ahead for MU basketball.  If only Wojo could coach. (Teal)

thanks, Lloyd.

Didn't think teal was necessary on something so obvious.

My bad, I did not read what Gillen said.
However, I still feel that playing Fischer for half of season was a waste. I would be extremely excited about next year's team, if Fischer was a 5th year senior on it.

It's great to see Marquette's talented recruits growing taller.  For years it seemed that only Badgers grew taller as the Warriors shrunk.

Playing 24 out of 32 games isn't half a season. He only missed 8 games.

I also wouldn't call playing against Arizona State and 20 Big East opponents a waste. Far from it. The 2014-15 season was key to Luke's development. He probably wouldn't be the player he is today without that experience.

and I doubt Luke wanted to sit out for a year and a half after only playing a few games at IU.

It should also be noted Luke played  13 games for Indiana his first year.  He then practiced against Davante and Otule for the rest of that season.

Hot Saucerman? Shock Jockerman?

I just noticed your avatar. Nice.

Back to the topic: wojo should recruit people that are good at basketball.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I disagree.  Wojo should concentrate on poor players with great athleticism whose brothers happen to be good NBA players.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

#'s 2 and 7.   Just missed on #1.    Ike Eke now listed at 6'10.

Remember the early 2000s when TC recruited Michigan hard. Chris Grimm, Brandon Bell, "Manchild" Mathews. Yuck.
