Ohio State and Creighton are the favorites to land Jaxson Davis per Tipton and On3.

We signed 3 top 100 guys in 2025, 1 last year, and 1 already signed for this year. And Ndong could be one to make it 2 depending where you look.

Why do we think we're slow to react to the HS market? We're signing the same level of guy we usually get at MU, and missing out on the guys we usually miss out on.

I like our players - but Shaka lives off recruiting that sits at about 100 (+/- 15).  It seems like he likes that zone and tries to find the diamond. 

When we've been our best as a program we've gotten a 1-2 that are top-50 + that strategy.  Now that we're supplementing with the portal maybe this works...but i wouldnt say that his recruiting has been unequivovally positive.  Our first hiccup was the first with all his recruits (as example).

One could make an argument for Joey given he played for a 5 seed 2nd place finish and 2+2+9+7=20/4 averages to a 5 seed and 5+1+2+4=12/4 averages to a 3rd place. (Obviously ignoring last year)

I guess I'm going off memory and not overly precise.  But I was thinking of those players, D James & Jerel was in the +/- 50 zone, Novak, Diener, Jackson & D Wade (impacted by grades),  Jamil Wilson...

That pretty much covers our best teams outside of early Shaka which was heavy transfer supplementing 100ish players (didnt look up what those guys all were in high school).

This is where always going back is dangerous...but RSCI has Jerel at 57 - id say close enough.  Wade was kind of a special circumstance...wasnt undiscovered as much as not eligble at the majors.

But you are proving what I am trying to communicate.  Our best teams fished in a pond that was better than where we are fishing now and was supplemented by diamonds in the rough. 

With using the portal this can still work, but just relying on ~100 guys and projects is a click worse from where we've been.
