Quote from: muwarrior69 on April 21, 2025, 06:27:36 PMThe last 4 years does not necessarily predicate what will happen over the next 4 years. Certainly, there is a lot more money available now than there was when Shaka became coach. Like I said it remains to be seen if players will stay at Marquette if they take off.

If the House Settlement goes through you may see less chaos going forward.......NIL deals will have to be approved through a clearinghouse........so boosters just funneling money to players through a collective could be regulated.

At least that is what I've taken from my admittedly limited reading on the subject.

Quote from: wadesworld on April 21, 2025, 06:06:24 PMDoes it? What diamond has left MU in Shaka's 4 years here?

Does Jamal Cain count?
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

I don't think I would count someone who neither committed to Shaka nor ever played a single minute for him.

So, a player can't sue the "clearinghouse" just like they did NCAA? I hope you are right, but I am not holding my breath.

Will Marquette be a better team next season?

More 'ifs' than the last couple of seasons, but there are a lot of quality pieces.

From 247
Team Final has long been one of the best programs in the country and they can always be counted on to have a player or two who rises over the course of the summer. Sammy Jackson looks like he could be the next in line and did a lot of things in limited minutes while racking up 11 points, four rebounds and four assists during Final's lopsided win over the Houston Hoops.

A 6-foot-7 do-it-all wing who has a way above average base of skills, he can play point guard for a stretch and then fluidly switch to playing as a small ball four man. He can shoot, he can pass and while he's still a bit on the lean side, he's got a tremendous frame to build on and should be able to blossom in a college room.

Ranked No. 96 as the spring starts, he is another who looks like he could have some upward mobility in the rankings and there's little doubt that he's among the most versatile wings in the class. He said that he's getting ready to take visits and cited Marquette, St. Joe's, Texas, VCU and Villanova among the programs that he's looking to check out. We'd expect that list to grow after May's live evaluation period

Thanks for this report.

A bonus if he joins our program: He'll keep the motherf%$king snakes off the motherf%$king team plane!

Sheek Pearson made a strong impression during Brad Beal Elite's matchup against the Florida Rebels. The 6'11" big man showcased his length, activity, and energy around the rim on both ends of the floor. Pearson was a constant presence in the paint, altering shots, finishing around the basket, and cleaning the glass. His ability to run the floor in transition stood out, as he consistently beat opposing bigs down the court for easy opportunities. With his combination of size, mobility, and motor, Pearson continues to emerge as an intriguing prospect to watch.

Great to see them making an in-person push for Egbuonu. Let's finally make some goddamn moves.

You might need to wait for him to commit a few more times before he gets it out of his system.

Vander Blue Man Group

For those more in-the-know or following it more closely, are there any guys at this point that you'd be a bit surprised if they don't end up at Marquette?

Or still too soon to tell?

I think it's too soon.

Umm.

I am seeing a 247 flip of Sheek Pearson from ISU to Marquette. We do have a 4 spot on the roster open.

Hmmm....
