Nope, just a lower seed.

Quote from: willie warrior on February 24, 2025, 07:00:07 PM20-7 is not considered bad, but the last 2 months play has not been good. It has been mediocre at best. Elite teams are peaking now. We are not. So maybe don't criticize posters for things they haven't said as "utter whiny crap"
Sorry for missing this earlier.   Willie, I am simply responding to your posts with the same energy and attitude  with which you respond to the players.  As you criticize them, I criticize your weak takes.

Quote from: K1 Lover on December 15, 2024, 09:03:37 PMBased on recent chatter as well as what I could gather online, these currently appear to be the 2026 recruiting prospects of most interest (listed in no particular order):

Figured I'd put them all together for easier reference. In addition to having received a scholarship offer, each has been seen by Shaka & company in person and/or made official plans to visit Marquette if they haven't done so already. It's early, so this list is obviously still developing. Let me know if I missed anyone; I'll do my best to update accordingly.

Others with expressed interest in MU but pending an official offer or plan to visit: Jayden Johnson (visit), Josh Manchester (offer), Luca Foster (offer).

Thought I'd bump this since the final visiting recruit we know of is in the building tonight. Don't think there have been any updates with the three who were still TBD on an offer/visit, but regardless, the list we have is already pretty solid as is.

Not sure how Scoop has felt about previous recruiting classes, but if you ask me, I definitely think we have a lot to look forward to in these next few years.

DWade in the house.  Wonder if that was planned in conjunction with this visit or just a coincidence.

The way the players have been performing, they deserve critique. If you want to call their play lately as good, that's your problem.

Good? I'd settle for understandable.

For anyone bored, take a look at Nigel James finishing in traffic. 20 minutes of it..

This kid is the real deal. Will be surprised if he's not getting major minutes by the end of next year.

He's playing against a higher level than most high school kids do, but it's still a massive jump in size, athleticism, and skill level going from even high level high school basketball to high major D1 basketball.  I think he'll be good.  I think the freshman will contribute.  But the safest thing is to expect little from freshman and trust development for them in their time at Marquette and to be real contributors as upper classmen.

He has 2 to 4 players to beat for playing time at the 1.

I will be surprised if he gets more than 5 minutes a game his first year.

He might be the only true point guard on the team next year, there is an art to being a point as I was one. Pass first

True point guards still have to play on both end of the court.  Until I see otherwise, I'm going to assume any true Freshman will be behind the Jr./RSJR in that regard. That is also the end of the court Shaka prioritizes.  I think Bib Papi is spot on, 5 mpg, possibly getting cut out all together a few times as the bench inevitably gets shortened later in the year.

Also, LOL at the Ners-esque flex.

Yeah the idea that a point guard should be "pass first" isn't really contemporary.

I assume in addition to SJ and Norman he's referring to Chase and Owens.

I still think Sean starts but it wouldn't surprise me if James plays himself into an important role.

The difference in how he describes Shaka and Gard is night and day. Not saying he's a for sure MU guy but I think there's a better chance he goes out of state than UW

JTJ3

I think James carves out a role similar to Parham this year.  Ready to play as a freshman, not a starter, but important role player off the bench creating offense.

I was actually wondering something about the sport back when you played. How often did you need to replace the peach baskets?
