I'm guessing mid May when the first summer school session starts. It's usually right after graduation

When is graduation for them? Freshmen almost always don't arrive until summer 2 because of that. They only get 8 weeks of workouts anyway.

Why does it feel like he is going to be an Iowa St. commit.

Read that Calipari is going to change his recruiting strategy such that he only has 9 scholarship players on his roster with walkons filling the rest.  I wonder if that will be an isolated trend or become widespread.

He's saying that because he can't get more than 9 players to play for him next year.  The reality is that if you're not required to play every player on scholarship.  So if you like 9 guys and want to keep those 9 around, then play those 9 guys and if the 4 that got no playing time transfer, no big deal.  You really only cared about the top 9 anyway.

Really? John Calipari can only get 9 players at Arkansas?

So far, yes.

I mean, it's absurd to say any college basketball coach wants 9 scholarship players.  Imagine trying to do 5 on 5 stuff in practice and Rob Frozena needs to be playing point guard for one of the teams because you don't have two full 5 person teams to put out there.  That's not good for your team's development in any way whatsoever.

Yeah, that's a funny one. To get more than 9, he'd have to scrape by on a couple/few high-3-stars, though.

Honestly, I think it's just a stunt. "Oh woe is me, players can transfer if they don't get playing time. Ive been forced into only recuiting 9 players because i can't keep them all happy. I only get paid several millions of dollars,  it's not fair to put this burden on me"

Last year, that was the case.  But things can change quickly in HS recruiting.

Nyk Lewis recaps MU visit from a few months ago

From On3

MARQUETTE: "It was the atmosphere that really stood out for me. It's really a basketball school. They're in the Big East. Milwaukee is a great city. I liked the coaches and the coaching staff, and how they really appreciate me and how I play. They play a really fast-paced offense, they really try to push the tempo and play with two lead guards."

He is also planning on more visits..... Xavier , Louisville, Seton Hall and LSU mentioned

Plans on a August or September decision.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

Missed this from a few weeks ago, but Marquette still recruiting Azavier "Stink" Robinson.
