I actually think Wojo is setting up 2017 brilliantly. Maybe not as many top-100 kids, but meeting team needs this year made that almost a given.

The past two years have shown a clear need for big man depth. A program like ours won't attract 3 top-100 bigs in the same year. Frankly, outside of Duke or Kentucky, not many programs will. We have two very solid projects that will have the opportunity to contribute early in Eke and (likely) John. Go all in on Tillman (head says MSU, heart says Marquette) and that one top-100 with two to develop is perfect for our needs.

Much smarter than swinging and missing on three top-100 kids. We don't need a highly ranked class and we don't need backcourt players. We need strength and depth to support Heldt in the coming years. I really like how this class is shaping up.

JayBee, you are closer to Theo's house than me.  Go don you private detective costume, and park outside his house with a pair of binoculars.  We need live updates!!!

Both you boys on the case.  VegasWarrior and I had Markus staked out.  I covered the video shoot at the park while he watched the house.

I agree with this analysis.

As far as Herro, it's disappointing, but we don't project to have many openings for 2018. We do need a point guard in that class. I hope we have a shot with Ayo Dosunmu. He'd be a perfect complement to Joey Hauser.

So, just as a general question to the board, what's our 2017 "wish list" order here and how confident are we in the following guys?
The way I see it is ...

Tillman - 50%-60% or so? Wojo has pulled out all the stops (no pun intended) which is encouraging
John - 90+%, Big Daddy's post, seems like we're trending here on decision day
Nwora - 30%-40%, the Louisville offer is big but we were in early
Cain - ?, us and Michigan it seems
French - ?, us and SLU but could be he was told to hold off till other guys decide

My personal wish list is:

1. X Tillman
2. J Nwora
3. J. Cain
4. T. John
5. H. French

I feel great about John.
I feel good about Cain and French.
I feel good about Tillman but never underestimate Izzo with in state recruits
I don't feel good about Nwora

All these are quality recruits though. Any combination of three will make for a great class.

Just a quick reminder.  At this moment we have 3 available schollys for next year.

I want Nwora, John and Cain or Tillman. Don't care how many scholies we have left. To many
midgets. We need the ball to score. Heldt is the only big guy and I hope he can do the job.
The 6-6 center-forward days are over. Can't figure it out, we are in need of Bigs and playing
time available and recruits don't come. Johnson is our best recruiter. Hopefully, he will be our
Howard Moore of Bucky. Has been doing great at Wisco for Gard and old Bo. The present staff
can't recruit. Thought Wojo, Nelson and the others could. But, No. Was a Wojo fan. Got it off my chest. Just Ramblin'.

Earl?! Rambling? NEVER

I'm really so puzzled by the "Wojo and co. can't recruit" crowd.

I thought it was 3 as well.

1. Duane
2. Sandy
3. Rowsey
4. Heldt
5. Haani
6. Sacar
7. Traci
8. Hauser
9. Markus
10. Ike Eke

11. ?
12. ?
13. ?

So adding John would leave us with 2 left, right? Or am I missing something...?

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

BeeJay's all about the technicalities.  Technically Eke (and John) have signed nothing, which means their scholarships are still open.

That's the problem.  He was a good 4th best player on a great team.  Then he was supposed to step up and be 1 of the 2 go to guys and wasn't very good in that role, falling to the 3rd or 4th best player on a solid team.

Do you actually believe the stuff you type? My God. He's gonna leave Madison with 1400 points and a boatload of wins. He'll make a million plus from hoops whether or not he ever sniffs the NBA.

Right.  At same time I was working on the schedule because I couldn't find something to link, typing like a madman, contributing knowledge to all you guys and all I get is abused!

Probably not true. At least not unless he goes on to a successful coaching career.
