Just quoting myself here, in case y'all forgot.

Interesting how things are fluid and ever changing with recruiting, as neither UVA nor Texas A&M made his final ten list.

How highly rated is this guy?

He isn't at the moment.  He recently got an offer from Florida as well.  If he chooses Marquette, they may have gotten him before he blew up or maybe not.  Hard to evaluate this summer.  If they made a commitable offer, they must be confident in his talent.

Also, he may just be cutting his list like Tyrese Hunter did.

He has no 247 page and only had mid major offers up until recently when Florida and Marquette offered. Supposedly the #4 recruit in Tennessee.

AE speculating that he'd be in the 150ish range.  Would be a nice start of a class, but certainly not a jewel.  In May 2019 he was listed at 6-3 170 so assuming that he fills our more, it continues to follow the bigger guard trend that Wojo appears to be heading in.  I'm okay with having at least one PG capable player in every class so even if DJ stay (unlikely IMO), we' have room for him plus at least one other backcourt player, plus you never know how classes end up balancing out with transfers and redshirts.

COVID has made actually talking to my students more difficult.  But every indication I got up until schools closed was yes.
We are counting on you to get the ball into the end zone with Tyrese.

What? I thought you were the Scooper recruits brought in the official visits. No?

How good is he if Tennessee or Vandy did not give him an offer?

Who knows?  Marquette and Wisconsin did not give Tyrese Haliburton an offer and he was a two-and-through kid who will most likely be a top 10 draft pick.

hopefully just a top 10 list. Tyrese Hunter dropped Louisville completely after they added a PG in 2021 class

FIFY.  In reality though IDK.  However, given that we have 5 openings (6 if DJ leaves), as well as the staffs recent history on identifying players before they blow up (RJ Davis was about the same ranking when we offered, I believe Osa was un-ranked when we offered) I think it'd be a solid start.  Also, if DJ leaves we'll likely be looking at replacing about 60 mpg in the back-court. Even with Perez becoming eligible, you can take Jones and still have minutes to sell for someone like Tyrese.  There's also the time/resource management aspect that has been brought up here before.  If Jones commits today, and we can get a commitment from Hunter by the end of the summer, then you can put the full court press on for someone like Kendall Brown come fall.  Personally then, I'd look at a little more depth at C, as I'm still unconvinced that 6-7 Lewis is the long term answer there, but (fair warning speculation about to ensue) if a class ends up looking like Jones, Hunter, Brown, big TDB (hopefully Etienne, although both him and Brown would be a pipe dream), and then save two scholarships for the transfer market, that'd be pretty much a home run IMO.

If he does come to MU, hope it works out as well as it did for Tyrese.

I think it was more likely because they added 2 guards in the span of two weeks.  We'll also likely be looking at around 60 mpg opening up after Koby and (likely DJ) leave.  I'm also not even sure that Jones has 10+ offers, as this tweet only lists 11 schools under the category "offers and interest", and he hasn't received an offer from Alabama, Arkansas, NC State, or VT yet.  If it's not a commitment, my guess would be an announcement that he's transferring to a different high school for his Senior year, although he did tweet "6/30/20!" on June 24th, and "Big announcement soon..." on June 21st fwiw.  I guess we'll just have to wait 3 hours.

A nice opening get for 21.    IMO, MU is pretty set at the 1,2,3.    Need some size.

The poem makes more sense directed to you than to glow. He never acted better than the site. And that many members on here are disappointed at his absence indicates your poem doesn't apply to him because his presence is missed.

Scoop will carry on without any of us. The question is not if Scoop will be here when we're individually gone, but if we make it a better place when we're here. Jsglow unquestionably did make Scoop a better place, which is why people still miss him.
