Unironically agree

I was actually being serious too. Better indicator than the Cristal Bowel.

That's pretty awesome and exciting.

Also, Oso seems like a great kid. Love his versatility. It will really help to have a few bigs that are mobile, can shoot, handle the ball, pass and block shots.

Do we have any realistic shot at Kahlil Whitney?
Would be a fantastic Theo replacement.

Not a post player though.  He's 6-6, 190.

Were we ever involved with him originally?  If not, I doubt we have any shot at all.

Whitney gone from UK. Could you imagine losing a 5* McDonald's all American mid season? MU Fans would lose it.

Reading the Reddit thread on Khalil leaving, it seems like he was highly overrated and should have never been a MCDAA. Highly athletic player with no real basketball skills.

Whoops, my bad.  Not sure why I thought he was a big man there stuck behind Richards, Montgomery, and Sestina.  Admittedly, I don't seek out the SEC and haven't watched much UK hoops since the Evansville loss so shame on me.

Probably a bit of a logjam then.  While the talent levels are certainly different, can't even say "you can't bring in enough talent" relative to Whitney cause as we've just seen.....you can bring in enough talent.

I'd love to grad a mid year transfer.  Do still have a scholly to burn for this season, and plenty of ammo yet for next.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Its way too late to bring in anyone to school for this semester.  It would have to be for the Fall.

Keep these updates coming (seriously)

Re: kahlil for one, it just goes to show you how fragile the player rankings and coaches (even good ones) eye for talent can be.  Secondly, is he someone MU would want?  Does he fit our scheme given what cal saw of him at Kentucky?

Even if we had a chance at him, I'd say we should pass as he may think more of himself than he really is.  Everyone has been telling him how good he is, etc etc, so does he have the drive to be better?   Would he use his next school primarily as a personal scouting show and spring board to the nba?  These seem like the type of player that could really bring a team down

We have no idea if any of this is actually the case.

The problem with going to Kentucky is that it's a fight for playing time.  But there have been examples of players leaving there and doing just fine.  Kyle Wiltjer lead the Zags in scoring his last two years.  Charles Matthews was a key to Michigan's Final Four run in 2018.  Jermarl Baker is doing well as a sixth man at Arizona.

I don't think there is any way that we land him.  And you may be right, but writing off high level recruits from Kentucky without due dilligence isn't a smart thing to do.

I'd be more interested in Shareef O'Neal. And I suspect the likelihood of us landing either is exactly the same.
