Should probably add #41 Lance Ware to the list, up 31 spots.

From May 24th,
"Ware said at the Nike EYBL event in Indianapolis two weeks ago that he hadn't made any visits yet. He said Providence, Michigan, Marquette and Pittsburgh were the four schools "showing me the most interest right now."

Just saw Flory's name in the transfer portal, leaving Albany this time.

We should sign him up, if only for the fun story - it'd be 6 years since his initial commitment to MU, and I think he still has 2 years of eligibility left.

I'd take him as a depth add, but he doesn't excite me at all. Led his team in usage (26.1%) but was one of their most inefficient scorers. Bad rebounder for his size, not a good three point shooter, really doesn't fit our needs other than he's got forward size. It is possible that he would be more efficient on a team where he was the 5th scoring option instead of the #1 option.

Nice. Very standard post visit interview. I like his game a lot, hope we can get him locked down soon.

Go get him, Wojo!

What's the harm in filling the scholly with a depth add?  I'd take 5-10 minutes at the 4, or a little injury insurance.  Better than burning the scholarship.

The only conceivable reason to hold the scholly is to hope for a mid-season transfer, but those are few in number and usually not quality players.

I suppose the harm is that you're not bringing in a player who sees himself as a depth add. Kids typically don't grad transfer to ride the pines. They're either looking to take a huge step up in program quality, i.e. Nate Sestina or Damion Lee, or go somewhere they expect to be featured. Or both.

MU82

Agree with Pakuni.

The only way you even consider a kid like this is if you are brutally honest with him: "We believe in competition, so the best players will play, but if I'm going to be truthful I would say the way our roster is constituted you would have many, many games where you play little if any. That being said, we love your (insert main attributes here) and we would love to see you join our program."

If the player still wants to be a Warrior, he knows in advance that he's looking at 2018-19 Heldt minutes. Anything more would be a pleasant surprise to him, and he'd be unlikely to mess with our chemistry.

To just add a body for the sake of it ... I'm not a big fan of that.

To be clear, I wasn't saying this guy is awful and wouldn't make our roster. I was just saying that I'd see him more as a 10-15 minute a game type of guy at most. If the staff wanted a little extra depth I'd be all for it.

With the open scholly, you simply get the best player available that you can possibly get. If that's a grad transfer, great, if it's a traditional transfer, great. But don't just take a guy to take a guy. Leaving it open for another 2020 recruit doesn't make much sense either.

oldwarrior81

one open schollie also leaves you open to take a mid-season transfer.

If you don't find one of those, slip it to one of the walk-ons for a semester, although none of the guys from last season are listed on the current roster.

You only play 9 or 10 players, so I don't see the need to fill more than 12 scholarships in any year.

Wisconsin just upped the ante on Johnnie Davis ,by making an offer to his brother Jordan. The brothers want to play on the same team and  Jordan wants to play football too.

I don't look at it as a good sign or a bad sign. Seemed like a silly tweet, though.

It's the age of internet attention whoring, and adults who follow this crap embolden it. Then we wonder why recruits act like malcontents and divas.

He said for another 2020 recruit.  I am assuming he means he would rather leave it open for a mid-year or end of year transfer versus a freshman.  That makes a great deal of sense to me.  Leaving it open for the possibility of a mid-year is better than taking a bench guy.
