This feels like a new level of ultra-speculation, even for Scoop. It assumes:

1. The NCAA somehow manages to wrap up its inquiry into Arizona's college basketball program relatively quickly (presumably within the next 10 months, before the 2019-20 season begins).
2. The NCAA finds that Miller and Arizona violated NCAA policies.
3. The NCAA imposes sanctions on Miller and Arizona.
4. The sanctions are serious enough that Nico Mannion decides to reopen his recruitment.
5. The NCAA grants Mannion's request to reopen his commitment.
6. Nico Mannion includes Marquette among the schools he's interested in.
7. Hiroshima

Did I miss anything? In my opinion, there's no need to progress beyond point one. I think Arizona could get nailed here. But it's not likely to happen before next season starts.

If Miller is charged.....

It will be between the end of March Madness and when the assistant gets sentenced in April.....

It has already been arranged......

The rest of us will know very soon.....

Spotcheck Billy

I don't think his assistant goes to trial again until the middle of April.

So we shouldn't accept the #10 player in the 2019 class because the #50 player in the 2020 class could get pissed off?

That's not how coaches think.

No.  I am saying I don't think Mannion would choose Marquette.  People seem to assume Mannion would choose Marquette if he were to reopen his recruitment.

If Mannion told Wojo he 100% wanted to go to Marquette,  that is entirely different.   But I will say it again: I am more excited about the commitment Marquette has, rather than pining about the one it doesn't.

Sibley update from 247

Mentions the schools recruiting him...including Georgetown, Iowa, Iowa State and MSU(no offer)

"When asked if he has made any visits this year, Sibley said, "I went to a Marquette game against Butler."

Marquette is close to home, and has been very visible recruiting Sibley this year.

About the Golden Eagles, Sibley said, "Their message to me is that they like the player I am, and how I would fit with their program. They are a great school, but I am still open."

Kinda reminds me of my prom date responses.

Sounds like some people want 5 scholarship players on our roster. Get a PG to commit? Good, no more allowed or we might scare someone away.

The Arizona assistant took a plea deal on January 22nd.....

So.for whatever he flipped if he did.....Sentencing is mid April without looking it up.....

If he is falling on the sword he will get a larger sentence (hard to believe).....85% needs to be served Federally.....If he flipped.....He will be granted leniency (for testifying).....If Miller is then charged.....A preliminary evidentiary hearing will be held where the assistant statement will be put into the record before sentencing is carried out.....
If Miller tries to continue.....The Feds will continue the sentencing until after the "assistants" testimony is at least on the books in Miller's preliminary hearing.....

After that.....If he lies under oath at trial.....He will have to serve the full term for committing perjury......or testify against Miller. to what he said in his evidentiary statement......

If they have his testimony and corroborating phone records and/or wire taps obviously they have a case.....AKA.....Miller directed me to do this!!!!

So end of final four to sentencing hearing is Miller's dates.....If he makes it past that.....The Feds probably do not have a "solid" enough case.....

I can not believe people on this board would not take Nico Mannion if he asks out of his LOI.You have to be out of your minds.Instant impact player at the PG position.Calipari had Quickley signed last year and he had no problem taking Ashton Hagans in the late signing period. You can not become elite unless you get elite players and you think MU should  turn down Mannion?Yeah right.

I realize this is splitting hairs but let me clarify.   Based on talent, it's a no brainer you take Mannion.

My viewpoint is that Markus is going to comeback for his Senior year and he will have the ball in his hands.

Therefore,  I don't think Mannion would choose Marquette the 2nd time around.   That is my main point.

Could be. But that isn't any different from his earlier recruitment when he included Marquette in his final 2. If Mannion decommitted, I would expect us to reach out and I would expect us to be players in his new recruitment. Of course, that is a massive if. But we have seen it happen to Arizona recently. Jahvon Quinerley decommitted from Arizona due to scandal and then went to his #2 school from his first recruitment.

Yes, and MU is in having a great season, ranked in the Top 10 now whereas they were unranked when they were his #2.

I think we were in the last 2 based on Stan's persistence.   I think Nova and Duke backed off when Nico was ready to Arizona.   I think Stan asked to make one last pitch, so "final 2."

No inside knowledge.  That's me trying read the tea leaves.  I don't see Marquette as the clear number 2.  Somewhere 2-4, yes, but not 100% sure where.

And if we win, add #14 to that list. And #12's next two (both this week) are arguably two of their toughest conference games of the year.

Add another top talent to the Milwaukee Metro area:

Quote from: @WisBBYearbookCan confirm, Tre White has transferred to Milwaukee Washington from Texas. 6'5" PG in 2022 class with Kansas offer.

White is a top-25 player in his class per Future150. Will team up with Michael Foster.
