Well that can't be bad

Love it. Strawther shout out and good recruits in the stands. Feels great.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Anybody know who was with Jalen. Was quite a bit smaller. Didn't know if it was his brother or not. Jalen has some legit size.

Yeah Kobe Johnson his little brother was also at the game. Another Marquette recruit.

I recognize most MU fans were watching something amazing last night, but did any in attendance happen to catch reactions from the recruits?

Earl Tatum

Great Game. Loved Theo's performance. Recruits attending the game
reminds me of Al's days at MU.

This from Strawther in a Rivals interview. Doesn't sound like he is going to decide anytime soon but MU obviously impressed him

Marquette: It went really well. I really enjoyed everything out there. The atmosphere was crazy with them playing in the NBA arena with 17,000 people at the game. That's unheard of. I really liked it and when i was there I felt that I fit their playing style. It was really nice."

Awesome.  Would be a great get.

With Matt graduating and Ike in questionable health, it would seem as if MU needs to be recruiting a couple of big men. Most of the 2019 class has already committed. So probably some combination of transfer or 2020.

MU staff deserves credit for filling the arena...I couldn't make it but it looked great on TV and obviously the recruits felt so as well.

Do we know what the Hausers relationship is like with Jalen Johnson?? I mean Joey for sure MUST know him, right?? Are they friendly??

2020 recruiting targets.Johnson,Suggs,Strawther,Burnett,Torrence,Morton,Dainja,Polk,Beekman,Sibley,Lewis and Garcia. You can have 5.Who you taking?

Mr. Sand-Knit

I have said it since day 1.....
Wojo has done a really impressive job getting traction with big time recruits and we have signed some really nice players under WoJo.  However, outside of the state the only really big time signing he has had iirc has been Marcus.  Close but nos with Grimes, Mannion and quite a few others.  The final 3 lists that we have been on has been very very impressive.
But wojo, imo, has been missing the final ingredient to seal the deal, that is on the court success.  The tangible results to the vision he has been selling in living rooms across the country.
That is why this ranking is nice.  Finish with a ranking, Top 20 or top 15 doesnt really matter, if we can achieve a top 4 BE finish and a win or two in the NCAA tounament and Wojo is no longer selling a vision.
The fact that we are in on so many top players and the great coincidence that we have so many great local players currently is potentially setting MU up for a really nice run.  Unfortunaley the Eyore in me reminds me that i felt this same way with Majerus, Oneil, Deane, Douchbag, and Buzz...

Depends on your definition of big time recruit. We've beaten MSU out for either Cain or Elliott. Cheatham was in the top 100. Also I'm not sure the instate things matters like you do. Stephens point and Rice Lake are closer to Minneapolis than to Milwaukee. In fact I believe all the Chicago land area is closer than those areas. There's not some magical force that makes in state kids believe distances are closer or have more affiliation with a school like MU.

I was going to put Cheatum on the list.  But he prolky doesnt qualify as a type of player i am referring to.  That is the types of players that are priority recruits fir the top programs, those top 50 recruits.  Jamal n elliot were not top oriority recruits for msu or um.  Im referring to the hausers, markus, grimes, mannion, wally, and many if our misses that would have been day 1 starters and potential pros.
And if you if think the kids being local doesnt make a difference then i dont even know where to begin on that topic.

That's about as good of quote as you could hope for from a prospective recruit. MU has lots to sell with new arena, Top 25 ranking, hell even the Bucks are good and Giannis is in town. Can we recruit his youngest brother?

This is an excellent post...I have said all along, Wojo is doing a very good job recruiting...However, at some point, he HAS to land consensus top 50 recruits, and beat out the likes of UNC, Duke, Kansas etc, before MU can really be considered "elite". It's great that he can be a "finalist", but that means nothing in the end, unless you actually land them.

100% agree.  Now that results are showing on the floor, I think we'll have a pretty good chance of landing the next Grimes or Mannion when the opportunity comes around.

Why?  Besides, there are maybe 4 or 5 ELITE programs.  We're aren't one, and that's ok.  ELITE means they stay that way regardless of who the coach is.  Is UCLA elite?  Nope.  Indiana?  Nope, not right now at least.  We'll see what happens when Coach K leaves.

There are plenty of very good, high high major programs that are fantastic programs that aren't always landing top 50 recruits all the time.  And let's not forget those schools turnover rosters damn year every year as a result.

I'll take stability. I want great players, but in the long run I'll settle for very good with very good players that aren't spinning out every 9 month months.

If you can live in the 51 to 100 range, you can be damn good.  Gonzaga, has had ONE top 50 recruit in 8 years, as an example.
