There is racism and there is realism.  74.4 percent of players in the NBA are Black.  70% in the NFL.  100% of Olympic 100M sprinters are Black.

There are exceptions to everything.  Yet, it is not silly, stupid, nor racist to hedge your bets in your are an NBA or NFL GM, and if its a close call on a player - you probably go with the odds.

I'm sure some of the easily aggrieved and offended here will be outraged with such a post, but it shouldn't be deemed "racist" to talk in real terms.

Any GM that decides to base the final decision on players too close to call on the race of the player is by definition a bad GM.

And a racist one too.

"...with street-ball style."  ???

Rupp????  I don't think so.

McGuire????  I don't think so, either.

Not the teams I watched for years coached by both men.

Street ball in this context referred to the tough, physical style of basketball Marquette played. As to finness ball, Kentucky was not a rough tough team in those days.

Rocket Watts has set 3/5 official visits. Florida State, Mizzou, and Louisville. Not feeling warm and fuzzy about this recruitment but would love to be proven wrong. Kid can score.

Is this a legitimate question?

Joe Mantagna at Blair Academy has averaged about 1 high major recruit a year since he's been at Blair the last 18-19 years, so he's not going to post something like this if it isn't true.

Ummm...nobody got my joke. Actor Joe Mantegna starred in movies by those names.
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

Yet at this point, I believe he only has 1 D1 offer, UWGB. Wonder what's up with that?
He was offered by DePaul earlier this year

Has had unofficials to Wisconsin and Georgetown in the past year. The Wisconsin unofficial was at our game.

The whole family has been late bloomers physically and skills wise . Alex was very candid on his strengths and weaknesses in the video interview on Basketball without Borders.

Giannis was not a late-bloomer.  He was involved in the Greek youth system as a 13 year old, was playing professionally as a 17 year old, and signed with a team in the top Spanish league as an 18 year old.

He meant the whole family other than the one who's good.

He seems to be going at his own pace.
He did not participate in the July EYBL and went to Greece instead.

And given that he has 3 older brothers combining for 2 years in college, 1 year of college playing experience, and an average of 5 points and 3 rebounds per game in that one season, I'm not sure that I'd expect a huge college career for the youngest brother.

Doesn't seem like the college game seems to be a huge priority in that family.

Just so Herman doesn't have to post it......Zaire Wade received an offer from Nebraska today.

The young man worked long and hard in a disciplined fashion. He just earned a scholarship offer to a Big Ten school that is an admirable achievement for any kid.  He is the son of the most prominent MU basketball grad which is frosting on the cake.

It is .

Zaire is an unselfish pass first point guard , with excellent court vision, shiftiness and a very good handle. What is not to like?

I am happy for TJ Schlundt and Philip Flory as well.
