Guys

Wade is greatest MU player and once in a lifetime get. If UWM is recruiting the kid, 99.9999% a pass for MU.

I take their coach's son doe.

I don't know man.  If he's only so good that UWM is actually recruiting him I'd hope we aren't interested.  Goes to show just how far we've fallen.

I wouldn't say that. Polk is a 2020 kid.  A lot of low majors try to land kids by being the first school there with the longest relationship. Most players who end up at high majors were also recruited by low majors...especially this early in the process.
Yes that is why UWGB made the first offer to Alex Antetokounmpo. Hopefully we can get in the mix.

LoL what about Kostas!
Goal is National Championship

Don't know if we're currently looking at him but keep an eye out for Tyler Beard in 2020 from Whitney Young.

Didn't play the first half of the season but he is going to be a star.

After a stop in Texas, Stan Johnson was spotted in Detroit. Smart money says he was there to 2019 PG Rocket Watts and/or 2020 SF Isaiah Jackson. The former is a top 75 type player, the latter a top 30.

So the only PG prospects are the 2 guys from STL?  Is the plan going into next yr Howard or Grad Transfer at the 1?

...no. As mentioned in the post you quoted, Stan visited PG recruit Rocket Watts in Detroit. Also in the 2019 class there is DJ Carton from Iowa, James Bishop from Baltimore, Paul Mulcachy from Jersey, and Tyrese Maxey from Dallas...though I think we are out of that race.

I assume Mario McKinney is one of the Saint Louis PGs you are talking about. I'm not sure who the other one is. The only other STL area recruit we are after is EJ Liddell and he's not a PG.

Next season the plan is to run Howard at the point. Though if Big Daddy is to be believed (and I have no reason to think otherwise) the goal is a top tier grad transfer PG. Personally, I would like a pass first, defensive stopper to compliment Howard in the backcourt.

Dr.

No doubt on the coach's kid.

Wades

If not the coach's kid, UWM would not recruit him. We do not want to recruit any kid that would consider UWM, without bias.

I think the problem was the wording.

Milwaukee can offer whomever they like. They have previously offered guys like Toby Hegner, JP Macura, Sandy Cohen, Nick Noskowiak, Matt Heldt, Tyler Herro, and others. Low and mid majors throw offers at players they have little chance at all the time in hopes of getting in early and landing someone that would be a program changing player.

If we get to the point where Marquette is routinely a finalist with programs like Milwaukee, Green Bay, Loyola, UNI, Valparaiso, and other similar programs, it's a problem, but targeting a player they offered isn't automatically a bad thing.

I'm still in the process Kostas camp. It was never about this year for him. I liked the potential of him being a top defender in college after he fills out in two years. Having that with Howard and Hauser bringing the offense would bring a well rounded team. Time will tell.

On Thursday night this week, St. Louis Vashon defeated St. Louis Webster Groves 75-70 in front of a very warm, packed house at Meramec Community College in suburban St. Louis. It was an electric, wild game.

At the end of the first half, Webster's Courtney Ramey stole the ball and went end to end for a monster dunk over Vashon's Mario Mckinney at the half time buzzer. In his excitement, Webster's Carte'Are Gordon jumped up off of the bench to celebrate and knocked over Mckinney, then taunted the Vashon bench. For his actions he was ejected from the game at half time. Ramey had 32 points (20 of 23 from the line) and carried Webster in the 2nd half to keep it close. But Vashon went on a 13-0 run led by
Mckinney doing it all on both ends. Mckinney finished with 19. Many college coaches were there.

I see Carrawell is out recruiting more lately.  Stan's been all over. Where has Nelson been?

UWM can offer every top 40 recruit in the country and that is fine. My point is simple, if a kid is choosing between us and UWM, the program is in trouble. As I stated, if a kid has family connection and has UWM on their list out of loyalty, not an issue.

If it is between UWM and MU for every person in the top 40, the program is in great shape.  I'll take our odds of landing 3-5 top 40 players every year in that case.

That's a much different take than you original had:  "If UWM is recruiting the kid, 99.9999% a pass for MU."

Huh? Do you really think a top 40 recruit will have UWM in the mix, without family ties? Come one, you are better than that.

Earl Tatum

Outside of Stan, our coaching staff SUCKS! I don't care who they played for.

GGGG

Goose.

Your first statement was "If UWM is recruiting a kid..."  UWM can recruit the top 25 players in the country.  They can send Zion Williamson hundreds of postcards, texts, etc.   So who UWM chooses to recruit has no bearing on the quality of a player.

If a player lists UWM and MU as finalists, and both schools really want him, and he chooses UWM, I agree that it would be a problem.

But that's not what you initially said.

Yes, please.

Both on the top-tier grad-transfer PG and him being somebody who can play D.
