I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Well, now that Haani is gone, what options do we have moving forward? Mid-season transfer? Class of 2018? We need guards badly..

TAMU, Knower of Ball

So everyone is clear, we still only have 1 scholarship available for this current season. Haanif leaving doesn't change that. We always had room for a mid-season transfer. However, Haanie leaving frees up his scholarship next season meaning a mid-season transfer can come and no one has to be cut next season.

Unless the ship has sailed, I would expect us to make a run at Courtney Ramey. If the ship has sailed, than we now have room for a mid-season transfer, a late bloomer, traditional transfer, or grad transfer. My guess is that only PGs and CGs need apply.

Regarding the bolded, thanks for clarifying.  That was my assumption, but wanted to confirm.

Man, the Haanif news leaves us awfully shorthanded at the moment.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Uncommitted PG/CGs in Class of 2018 by 247 composite:

#12 Anfernee Simons (we were one of like 25 schools who "reached out" after his decommit from Louisville)
#19 Jahvon Quinerly (part of FBI probe)
#37 Courtney Ramey (We did an in-home visit with him after his decommit from Louisville)
#59 Tyger Campbell (We recruited him before he committed to DePaul, reopened his recruitment in September)
#133 Tyler Harris (No connection that I know of, Memphis kid being recruited by Memphis)
#139 Myreon Jones (Mostly mid and low major offers)

So pickings are pretty slim in the 2018 class. I could see us going after Ramey and maybe Campbell. There will be options for transfers and late bloomers in the spring as well.

My wish list would be:

1a.) Ramey
1b.) Grad transfer PG
2.) Mid-season PG transfer
3.) Grad transfer CG
4.) Mid-season CG transfer

I'd maybe slide Tyger Campbell in at #4, but yeah.

#1 in our hearts: Tyler Herro.  I've heard rumors the Kentucky thing was just him playing hard to get.  Wojo clearly took notice and created room for him

Maybe Grimes will rethink his Kansas commitment now that he knows playing time is available next year.

You joke....but.... I'm watching the FBI probe closely. There have been some foul smelling things in Lawrence as of late and it's not just all the manure

You really are not letting go... Seemed Texas was closer than MU if the FBI decides to arrest Self all of a sudden.

Did Grimes sign with Kansas, or did he just commit? That is, are we allowed to still be in contact with him, just in case...? And, how unethical/unprofessional would that be within the coaching ranks?

There is an opportunity for someone to come in and play, all the other pieces are in place.  All they have to do is show a player what Rowsey is doing this year and come
in and do the same,  of course, reinforcements are on the way bigtime next year.  Is there is a good JC kid out there for 2 years?

He signed.

He gowne.

Ramey, Tyger, transfer would be my list.
Ramen and Tyger are both really good players

Any idea of other schools trying to woo Ramey after his decommit? I saw some of the other schools he was initially warm on include Mizzou, Purdue, Texas, etc.

Villanova is making a strong push for him.

Is this the rumor, that someone else is planning to transfer? Or, is this just part of the "Never stop recruiting" Manta?

I think he's just suggesting that history would indicating there may be another departure.  I don't think there is any real substance.

I will say that after Haani's decommit, if Ramey wants to come in and play major minutes on a very, very well rounded team, no one else is better positioned than us.

Never stop recruiting.  Assume departures.  No knowledge or rumors.  Just the nature of college hoops these days.
